OFFICIAL 2015-2016 College Football Season Thread

Gonna miss Cook when he's gone, man.  Having solid, steady play at the QB position is something that gets taken for granted a lot.  Michigan fans will understand this, when Jake Ruddock's 6.64 yards per pass attempt isn't good enough to beat good teams.

I don't even usually watch college football but I just seen a clip of that owusu catch and that's the craziest thing I've ever seen on a football field

Oh please let Cook try to take Hill on like that tomorrow.

You're joking right? Your boy got straight TRUCKED. He don't want it with Cook.

Yeah, he pretty much buried Delano and then someone on Michigan got flagged after the play... It was the definition of adding insult to injury... Michigan better not play that soft tomorrow... As big of a game for Michigan since 2006 vs OSU... I am sure the players have gotten confidence back somewhat with Jim at the helm, but Sparty has mopped them year after year that they need to see they can beat them to take another step... Michigan has gotten better each and every week and here is their first big test... A team that punches you in the mouth and usually ends up winning that fight... Nervous

When asked if Gibson was healthy and expected to play this season, Meyer went into “coachspeak” mode and didn’t really answer the question. Although, the vibe from Meyer seemed to be Gibson wasn’t going to play anytime soon.

And now more information is trickling in from sources.

* According to one source, much like freshman running back Mike Weber, Gibson has some catching up to do in the classroom.

* Gibson is healthy now, although he did tweak his sprained ankle a few weeks ago. Up until this point, we hadn’t heard Gibson suffered a setback. (He initially sprained his ankle in camp right around the time the coaches were talking him up as a WR.)

* Gibson has shown some immaturity at times on the practice field with coaches and older players.

* A source, who heard this information second-hand, says that Gibson is now so disgruntled he won’t be surprised if he transfers. Ugh, not good news there. But we’ve heard stuff like that from players over the years so many times we’ve lost count. Players say/do things in the heat of the moment and then think better of it. For example, defensive end Thaddeus Gibson briefly quit OSU’s team in 2008, before coming back and asking for forgiveness from Jim Tressel. Same deal for wide receiver Chris Fields in 2012. He said he was quitting and walked out in the middle of practice. Fields thought better of it later the same day and returned to the squad, asking for the mercy of Urban Meyer. Wide receiver Corey Smith quit the team last year and had to be talked into re-joining the Buckeyes by WR coach Zach Smith. Smith missed the Illinois game as a “secret punishment” for his action. (He wasn’t even at the stadium, which somehow no one picked up on.)

* So, we think Gibson is going through the normal process of a highly-touted recruit not getting on the field when he thinks he should. This is a young man that switched positions from quarterback to WR just so he could get some playing time as a true freshman. It hasn’t worked out and he’s frustrated. We think he will iron out his differences with the coaching staff and will become an impact player for the Buckeyes down the line. If Gibson wants to play big-time college football in 2016, transferring sure isn’t the way to do it. He would have to sit out a full season.

"Houston’s Tom Herman did not deny interest, but claimed his focus remains on the Cougars’ next opponent."

As things stand today, I believe the next coach at South Carolina will be one of these 4: Smart, Herman, Fuente, Elliott #Gamecocks

Stop with the Gibson BS. Dude has a sprain from camp and will most likely be redshirted. Has nothing to do with classroom

And during camp/practice he was killing it and was most likely gonna start at WR before injury
