Could Miami give Pagano a look?
Do they have the money to afford someone like that?

Pagano was a SC GA back in the day...
Nah we don't want him. Though I guess he'd fit the big name hire. It would also make sense if the story of the boosters already contacting a prospective home run hire coach is true since it's no small secret that he's leaving Indy this year and he's been vocal about it.

He was a Miami GA too.

Who do you guys actually want?

You SC guys seem rather picky considering the slim pickings that are out there.

Herman could be a HR, but he'd also probably be a risk for a place like SC.  The O he runs really doesn't fit your current personnel at QB, or really SC's "culture" either.  SC's NFL pedigree has been a huge selling point for that program.  Not sure you can still sell that running a college O.

They want a pro-style coach. I guess Herman isn't necessarily spread-only. He's like Kelly in that he can adapt to his personnel, as seen with what he did with 3 different QBs at OSU.

But the greater fan base doesn't even want him to be honest. Fans don't know who they want, but they're also beginning to come around to the notion that NFL QB's are now spending 75% of their time out of the gun and barely any successful HS's run under center pro style anymore.

Personally I'll take Herman gladly, but with one year of experience he's a risk. I'm not totally sold on Whittingham, and while I'd prefer a sexy name, I think Helton is being underrated as a coach and he's had the team playing well for three games now (counting the Vegas bowl two years ago.)

I don't want Pagano, he's not a good coach. Luck beating up on the weak NFC South is the reason he still has the job. Indy is ******** the bed right now and he's about to lose that job. No thanks.

don't know how reliable this dude is, but :pimp:

The Miami job elicits more polarizing views than almost any in Power 5. Coaches from Power 5 programs I talked with are split: some say it's still a great job, others have concerns about admin support and infrastructure. Two agents told me tonight that all things considered, UCF might be a better job than Miami.

What a shame...

UCF can't be a better job being until they're in a P5, b12 is their only option, and good luck inviting all those bigger schools to florida

Miami needs one good hire and we'd be fine. Even the coach next year is inherting a talented roster that could win 10 games. What does a no name big 10 journalist know about Florida football?

With the best OL in CFB, a dominant RB, and the best deep threat in CFB.

I'm still not convinced under most circumstances that you can have any real success running a spread-to-run without a running threat at QB. We saw OSU's RG struggle without a real running threat at QB this year, and we're seeing PHI struggle to run the ball this season.

He's struggled at Wyoming so far, but Craig Bohl is another small school guy that should be mentioned.  He built a program at NDSU that has won 4 straight NC's, and did it without taking a whole bunch of FBS rejects.

Those NDSU fans weren't lying when they said that NDSU was a better job than Wyoming

He probably could have gotten at least the CSU job if he waited a bit longer.

1. Wittingham or Fuente
2. Herman

Doubt they go that route though.
