Old economy Steve

Since the first one is about union jobs, I'd just like to remind you guys that supporting union jobs is supporting a decent wage, benefits, and good working conditions.

I've met a ton of folk that say shot like this

Nah b. Unions had a purpose back in the day before the government stepped in and enacted laws. Now unions encourage laziness and entitlement. The UAW comes to mind

Thats not true at all. Unions make it more difficult to fire lazy and entitled employees, but they do not encourage it.

Lazy and entitled employees can be found in private and public companies alike, union or no union.

Being in a union doesn't mean you can't get fired. The contractor is still able to lay off a worker, it just can't be due to discrimination.

And yes, you're right. Unions did come about to fight and earn better working conditions. Nowadays, the government has enacted laws. My question to you is, who is ensuring that they're being enforced.

Unions do not encourage laziness and there is no evidence to prove this. And yes, it does encourage entitlement. We're entitled to fair pay, safe working conditions, and the opportunity of living a good life.

Cheap labor isn't skilled and skilled labor isn't cheap. Unions ensure qualified and skilled craftsman are readily available for big projects and small alike. There's numerous reasons why Apple's mothership is using union labor. Tesla's owner Elon Musk hates labor unions, yet he's still using unions to build his battery plant in Nevada.

There's good and bad with everything, but I don't think union's are that bad of an idea.
