Leonard "Lenny B" Robinson, known by many as the Route 29 Batman, was tragically killed in Maryland on Sunday after his Batmobile reportedly experienced engine failure. Local authorities say that 51-year-old Robinson was checking the engine of his vehicle when it was struck and killed by a Toyota Camry. The driver of the Camry reportedly suffered no injuries.
The Washington Post reports that Robinson had just stopped at a nearby gas station, where he met a family with children understandably enamored with his customized vehicle. After interacting with the family and giving the children Batman-themed gifts, Robinson left the gas station. The family left shortly after Robinson and ended up witnessing the entire incident. The crash is currently under investigation, though no charges have been filed.
Robinson achieved widespread recognition in 2012 when a video of police pulling over the beloved caped crusader swiftly went viral, prompting a flurry of media attention. Robinson, as Route 29 Batman, was known for his frequent visits to local hospitals to entertain and encourage sick children.
Damn man
I remember reading about this dude years ago about how he will visit children in hospitals and buy them gifts.
Plus dude would spend about 25K a year of his own money to buy toys for kids.
