NT's All Time NBA ReDraft Thread: GR8 Write Up Page 187, Bracket Final Vote

Ska it looks perfect???

Just need a 12th round, but I can add if you don't have time tonight. Thanks man.

I've settled into my big board for my next pick. I have a feeling I'm going to be down to like one guy left when it's all said and done

Good pick.

Walton was one of those I was wondering when and where he would fall.

Yeah, if I can get this next pick to fall in my lap I'll really like the shape of my team's foundation.

Well going by the formula of Kobe + great big man = success and I have my wing situation solidified; I have to take a guy who's currently the best C in the game and has only begun to scratch the surface of what he can become, barring any anger management problems. The talent is undeniable though...

This is becoming the Most Popular Names of All Time draft.
Pretty sure that happened at pick #32.
There are some ALL TIME GREATS still available, man. Just chilling. Not even being THOUGHT of, apparently.

Like, I really feel like the thought process right now is along the lines of, "Hmmm, I need a 5. Shaq, Robinson, Ewing, & Dwight are gone. Hakeem went 1. Guess I'll settle for Walton. Welp, nevermind. No center for me. Hopefully Bison Dele is available. :\ "

"Need a PF. No Duncan? No Charles? No Malone? Crap, has anyone else ever played PF?"

Someone on bleacher report created some advanced stats for the playoffs. One in particular equates to the contribution to advancing in the playoffs. The stat is labeled Advanced Shares (AS). Chris Paul has a 0. Reggie Miller for instance has a 275.68. Kidd's is 348.24

Ye shrug.

Advancement Share (AS)

This shows how deep a player advanced into the playoffs. Different rounds are weighted differently—250 possible points for a title, 100 for an unsuccessful appearance in the NBA finals and 50 for a conference finals exit—but not every player earns all the possible points.

To recognize that some players are bigger contributors than others, the advancement scores are weighted by how much time a player spends on the court. Someone who wins a title but plays only 20 minutes per game will receive a lower percentage of the possible points than a teammate who played 35 minutes per contest.

As a result, this shows both playoff success and relative importance during the run of the player in question.

as much as I support the focus on actual winning, why the hell do you need a stat for this?

more useless garbage that wouldnt need to exist if people just watched basketball games and paid attention to who is still playing after the second round

Edit

Smh Nickmaz asks once and you change it? I've been asking you to change it for months now!
