If others are picking "selfish and flopping" players then that's good for your team... more old school legends to pick from. How is that a problem?
It's less about talking down about legends and more about most of us haven't seen guys from the 60s, 70s, hell even the 80s play except in highlights. So a lot of people will favor those who they've seen, the modern era focuses more on 3 point shooting, not to mention, the game has improved. That's not to say everyone who played in the 60s-80s are inherently worse, which should go without saying, but just because you could handcheck and clothesline someone on defense does not mean you were a better defender. Tougher and more physical? Perhaps, but between schemes, style of play, etc., the defense is different this era. It's less important that your big man can bodycheck someone as it's important he can switch on a pick and roll or cover a stretch 4.
The same criticism can be applied to someone picking a modern guy with a limited resume.. others could say "Well you've never seen player X play in person or even highlights, you're just going off stats or what others have said". There's not a right or wrong way to do this so what's the point in constantly complaining about how others are drafting. It's for fun and debate. If you like more old school guys, then it's a good thing that Rudy Gobert/Jason Williams/etc. get picked, more legends available for your team.
TL;DR... stop complaining and just draft your team how you like it. Ditto for people commenting on picks, it's more fun to have debate and discussion on picks than to just make a selection and keep it moving. Stop worrying about it if you like your team that's the fun part.

And that's the other fun part of the draft. Seeing an old school team who might have two bruising big men matchup against a more modern team with a stretch big or different style of play. Or a tough nosed defensive team match up against a modern 3-point shooting run and gun style.

You guys gotta relax, there's no money on this. Build the team YOU want to build. Then at the end, you can make your case for what you wanted, who you might have missed out on, how you would attack, how you would defend, lineups, etc.
Osh is commenting on picks because he has a lot of knowledge about the game, take it as it is, not that he's disrespecting anyone, or knocking them.
No real reason for anyone to be upset, yet. At the end of the draft, then everyone can argue and bicker over who's better.

it's the fact every time a legend gets picked it's oh, this guy really wasn't that good. he played in a lousy era. no three point line. it's a nonstop barrage of trashing people that weren't even watched by any of us but CP.

If we aren;t going to use our brains to guess how good x player would be with modern rules, what exactly would be the point?
we might as well just decide teams based HOF and award votes.

its not that serious, you spent half the thread cursing at me so I poked fun of your Jason Williams pick. relax.
One thing I do need from each owner, check in every once in a while on page 1 under your team, make sure I have your lineups the way you want them. Some of you confuse the hell out of me so I have guys possibly listed different than what you want. If you find something, let me know and I will get it fixed for you.

It's really not every time, don't exaggerate. There's been a ton of praise for older picks.. or people just don't comment because they couldn't tell you two things about Alvin Robertson.. not because they think he sucks.
