NT's All Time NBA ReDraft Thread: GR8 Write Up Page 187, Bracket Final Vote

A lot of people skipping out on some great players in the 70s and 80s. Kind of surprising since I know a lot of you guys know these players. A lot of the last few rounds been heavily focused on the 2000s till now.

sheed could have had it all

cared more about causing a scene and getting Ted up than playing basketball

you cant be top 20 all time when you do stuff like this

Lamar is one of the most underrated players in recent history.
Do you think he underachieved?

Good career, but I feel as though (like 'Sheed) it could have been much better.
How much better than a 6MOTY and being a solid contributor to 3 Finals/2 rings do you think he could have gotten?

I liked quite a few guys in this spot, but I continued to go with how I want to build this squad

He and Odom had similarities and a few differences. Mason was more mentally tough/consistent Odom. One hell of a post defender too. Odom just didn’t have it all the time, while Mason gave it his all every game.

Elite defender, very good rebounder, not as good of a shooter as Odom, though. Great passer as well. Mason guarded anyone from Jordan, Vince Carter to big men. Plus, he fits in perfectly with my team. Probably one of the few players in the 90’s, 00’s to make an All-NBA team and win 6th man of the year. It may have happened more than I think, but it doesn’t seem like it  .

also will throw in this tidbit..

Per 100 possession:
A certain someone ’14-15: 18.0ppg / 12.4rpg / 5.7apg / 16.2 PER / 0.162 WS48
95~01 Mason: 18.4ppg / 13.0rpg / 5.6apg / 16.3 PER / 0.157 WS48

Gary Payton
Brandon Roy
Ron Artest
Karl Malone
Marcus Camby

Anthony Mason

Sigh that's the only pick on my board I actually wanted. But I respect it fam. Mase was a good dude. Raised a good family.

Like I said. There's quite a few guys I like here. But I feel like given the trajectory of the last round or two, a lot of the guys I'm taking a look at for this pick have a likelihood of being there on my next go-around.

Except this guy, who I'll go with now.

I debated on going with some recent guys unless they were really high in potential. But, this dude? I feel like he's going to be great for another ten years or so. Given that, give me Damian Lillard.

PG- Isiah Thomas. Damian Lillard.
SG- ?
SF- Elgin Baylor
PF- Jerry Lucas. Elton Brand.
C- Bob McAdoo.

Feel like there's plenty of SGs I can go with here. I know people think it's a this position, but I have at least 10 guys lined up that I can plug in there. Hopefully they all don't get picked this round!

That's great...but for a guy with his skill set, as unique as Magic Johnson's, he should be known more for being a 6MOTY and a "solid" contributor.

Followed his career from the time he was at CtK and URI running the show w/ ARD, Luther Clay, etc....the hype was real. His life off the court...man :smh: Gotta feel bad for the dude.

Have no idea how Spree fell this late. Idk if prime Artest is much better than prime Spree was, if at all. And I love both players.

Both excellent 2-way wings who did pretty much everything well on the court. Spree was more agile and the better scorer and shooter, while Artest was bigger/stronger and the better defender. Both head cases, one choked his coach the other started the biggest brawl in NBA history. 2 of the most catastrophic instances in NBA history. Overall not too different.

Great pick. Have had him on top of my board for awhile now. Spree made first-team All-NBA in 94. Consistently averaged well over 20 PPG during that span while also being a tough as hell defender. Led the Dubs back into the playoffs that season after Run TMC fell. Also averaged 24/5/6/2 in 1997.

I feel like people tend to forget that Spree and remember him more for his Knicks years (in which he was also great and a ******* warrior who pretty much carried the hobbled up 8-seed Knicks to the Finals in 99 on his back) and the "I need to feed my family" Spree in Minnesota.

Still some great players left though.

@bhzmafia14  team after that Mase pick... Aren't too much better do-it-all 6th men out there, especially on that roster.

This guy guarded Hakeem in the Finals, MJ, VC, etc. Then, the 31/14/11 game :x

I kinda hated to pass up on two other guys, but I feel like the main one I want will last (hopefully). Every game my team play in, blood will shed  .
