NT's All Time NBA ReDraft Thread: GR8 Write Up Page 187, Bracket Final Vote

I would like to see you top 10 Ska and your break down of strengths and weaknesses.

If my squad isn't one of those, I'd like a break down of my team, hell I'd like to that from a few people actually

Would love to see a list of "free agents" once this draft concludes. I feel as though we glossed over some obvious gems.

Props, CP, for putting this all together. Had a great time participating.

I know my 12th came down between Nate and Chandler Parsons for me.

Sarunas Marcilunous (sp)
Juwan Howard
Nick Anderson
Dennis Scott
Tommy Heinsom (sp)
Orlando Woolridge
Cedric Ceballos
Anthony Peeler
Ben Gordon
Thurl Bailey
AC Green
Doc Rivers

Just from the board I've put together.

I'd like to see superlatives like most athletic (I think CAKE has this by a mile ), stingiest defense, best shooting, etc.

I didn't have anyone left on my big board.. it's also cause I kind of stopped thinking that far ahead by the end of it. I had my list of guys I liked for the later rounds and they were either picked by me or someone else.

For the last pick I literally just searched for a big man who could blocks shots and had a high DBPM

And I'm all for as much input and breakdowns as possible. Everyone could do their top 3-5, their best defense, offense, favorite bench, whatever.

I think the teams with mostly older players will typically be ranked lower, though, since a lot of fans in here won't be as familiar with the details of some older guys.

I will record whatever you guys give. Top 1-3-5-10, whatev.

Best Def, O, shooting, athletes, etc, I'll jot it all down and post results as they build up.

I figure to spend a day or two goin over my votes. I will also PM folks as/if needed for info or reminders.

If you judge you have to judge/rank all 30

Or else folks will start feeling left out.

And by folks, I mean me :wow:

I'll do my team breakdown tomorrow and I'm putting Ben Gordon over David Wesley dammit

Also, RIP to my Center who passed over the weekend. Obviously was too young to ever see him play but pretty clearly the most under-appreciated top 15 guy of all-time, Moses |I

Should we just everything by modern rules.

or should we go best team by era rule changes like

Modern (Illegal defense/No handcheck)
90's-78 (No illegal defense/Handcheck)
Pre 3 point line

You're not swapping Wesley for Gordon.

There are no free agents, add/drops & ****. Your team is your team.

No 13th round. Roster of 12, stated day 1. No adds/drops, trades, NBDL stashes, etc.

12 rounds, completed.

But here's what I thought looking at your squad:

However I really wanted to create a squad that was extremely versatile that allowed me to play small or big without compromising shooting, passing or my ability to defend.
And that you did!

C: Bill Walton/Bill Laimbeer
PF: David West/Bargs
SF: Crown/Tayshawn Prince/Chuck Persons
SG: Vince/RIP/Vinny the Microwave Johnson
PG: John Wall/Sam Cassell

Not an in depth analysis; just things that jumped out at me.

Right off the bat, your immediate strength in your SLU is the freakish athleticism of Wall, Lebron, and Vince. That's just... ugly. :x

Then you compliment them with some more traditional players in Walton and West, and there are some serious matchup problems right from the opening tip.

What I saw second was how even in your positions, you created versatility. Lebron, Tay, and Rifleman could not possibly be more different players at the SF position, and that's what the opponent has to deal with. At the 5, you go from Walton taking a breather... to Bill Laimbeer?! Polar opposite. I like it. :smokin

Microwave and Alien are such spark plugs, and RIP is the greatest midrange player I've ever seen. I've said that on NT multiple times.

Not a fan:
- Bargs

Weakness:
- perimeter threats. Chuck better be ON it. I know Vince can hit. I know Wall can hit. I know dudes CAN hit, but it's a difference between dudes who can hit, and dudes who better not be left open.

Good looks on the break down Ska :pimp:

The weakness you pointed out was what I saw as I looked at the team as a collective as well. Like you said I have guys who can hit in Sam, Vince, Rip, Tayshawn, and Bron. But only one KNOCK DOWN shooter in Chuck, which is why I almost took his son instead of Vinny with my last pick  . Honestly the draft went in a way that I didn't really expect as far as shooters and I chalk that up to a lack of foresight concerning my fellow GM's knowledge of the game. I NEVER expected Korver to go in the first 5 rounds, but he is one of the greatest shooters of all time. I just didn't think it would happen with the depth of players to choose from, but great job by the GM who grabbed him  . Also as far as Bargs goes, I really wanted Okur at that slot but of course Osh would scoop him  :smh: . So I snatched up another 7fter with great range, soft and a under performer, but a great skill set ie. shooter and pretty versatile.

Wallace/Coleman as your starting 5/4? Yikes.

Exactly why I told people to stay straight with this stuff.

Sheed is a career PF that played SOME C at end of his career, Mike gonna throw him at Shaq, Kareem, Wilt, Hakeem, Ewing, etc, and I'm the idiot......

Even worse, he stole Sheed from me when I could have used him better. :smh:

I mean, 1-3, he's good...but that 4/5 = no bueno.

For his bench, I love the versatility of rose/Kukoc...and Finley was an absolute beast in his prime.
