NT's All Time NBA ReDraft Thread: GR8 Write Up Page 187, Bracket Final Vote

I wonder what the judges would do with someone like Rick Barry.

Considered in his day to be an elite level shooter, and highlights from his games on youtube suggest he migh have been a 38-40% 3 point shooter if he played with a 3 point line and spent time and practicing from that distance.

but he didn't so we only have his ABA years to go off of wich he barley took any 3's and shot poorly when he did.

Should we just assume that Rick would be an elite 3 point shooter or nah?

Yes...he was considered the best shooter for his era, we'll put him on par with the other great shooters.

I also don't really give a ****.

Same with Larry. Larry is known as a shooter, dude hit like 50-60 a season. Curry doubles that in a month.

For this exercise, we have to imagine all players translating to one era, and honing their skills for that era. If they were a shooter in the 70's, likely a (better) shooter in the __ era. Reasonable?

We could do this for anyone. Would Wilt feast on guys like Shaq, Ewing, Dream, D12, etc? Or would he come back down to earth quite a bit?

LTB is online, so no idea why he hasn't picked yet, given that I have tweeted him multiple times, placed his name in the Title, seen Mamba tweet him, and he's been @'d on here.

Other than a bat signal all the way down to the LA area or a hand delivered note, not sure what more I can do to get him here.

are these matchups going to be played in the modern era?

prime shaq would be the GOAT if he got to play in the 1960s nba paint

add jackie moon as the final starter/coach/owner and you have a team that would win multiple middle school playoff games

This was a difficult one for me. Couldn't decide between 3 people, and I know all 3 will be gone soon.
All 3 are explosive and athletic and scoring machines.

But This guy put himself over the edge based on defense and underrated passing abilities (6 assists per game).

Clyde, The Glyde, Drexler.

For those of you who have 4 minutes to spare and need a quick reminder.

He was ahead of his time. Completely over shadowed by MJ :smh:

How did the team with Mailman pass up on Stockton for GP?

TMac and AI were steals if you are going by one season peaks for the player on your team.

J-Kidd was the perfect PG to get when building a team with a bunch of HOFers.

... No reason CP3 should have gone ahead of any of the aforementioned players if you are going by their singular best season.

Because GP is a better scorer and defender and I'm pairing that with another two way player  . Stockton was great, but at times I felt like he didn't give Malone enough help to push the Jazz over the top from the scoring department considering how good those two were. That wasn't necessarily his role, but it would've been nice to see him be more assertive as a scorer. GP gives me that and now I have a #1 and #2 that can basically swap on any given night. If I got Stockton, I would probably be searching for another scorer on the wing with my 3rd pick hoping they can help carry the load with Malone.

Stockton just wasn't who I needed on my squad. GP can guard both guard spots and take over games from both ends of the floor. Stockton was definitely not slouch on the defensive end, but he also wasn't GP.

Looked in this thread right before my flight yesterday and 10 players from my big board that I expected to be available in round 2 were already gone ... Looked my phone like Kyrie:

Back to the drawing board

I also always wondered how a Payton / Malone duo would've he turned out after seeing them together in LA  They were 35 and 40 in LA, so it would be nice to see how good they would've been in their primes together.

[/quote]Attack.

The rim!! :smokin

Son is the epitome of a rim attacker, whether by attacking himself, passing to the guy closest, or passing to a cutter.

Anthony Davis protecting one rim and throwing outlets to Clyde attacking the other rim? Nice.
