Nelly is Top 10

The problem with all you 20 something year old, fake 80s babies, fake elite rap listening MOFOs is that you all actually act like KRS1 is some sort of untouchable legend just because of the era he rapped in.  Dude said what he said and Nelly had the younger generation (reads mass public) behind him and wasn't some lame about it and handled the issue.  KRS1 hasn't been relevant to anything hip-hop related since Criminal Minded, he just one of those old bums who was salty that the torch was passed.  He is the equivalent to that weak *** 45 something in every gym in America who still thinks the NBA looked him over and ends up being annoying trying to prove his worth and draw up plays during open gym.

But yea Nelly is Top 10 in terms of what he was able to accomplish in the music industry based on starting from RAP.  Who came into the game and went diamond their first disk? #1 on rap charts, pop charts, and country charts?
His first album didn't go diamond

World wide, yes
Us= 9 million so he's pretty damn close. Dudes nowadays won't sell 9 million with 9 albums.

Dude at the bar last night said Purple Haze was the best rap album of all time...

Wanted to smack him...but had to just smh and dap him. Killa :smokin

My problem is the lack of respect Nelly gets today. People act like he couldn't rap and he wasn't that big. If you were old enough back then, you would know. Nelly is one of the biggest rappers of all time. That run from Country Grammar to Sweat/Suit was crazy. One of the biggest and most organic I've ever seen. Nelly doesn't have a classic album though. Nelly will never be top 10 unless you're talking sales.

St. Lunatics album is still hard today.

Ali and Murphy Lee could rap but their solo albums were trash.

BINGO

Young mans game, fans nowadays were 4 when Nelly was on top. Might not have had a classic album but country grammer was a complete album, top to bottom. And son has one of those generational songs that u will hear for the rest of your life in hot in here. I was at a casino resort in upper Michigan, nothing but rednecks and the only rap songs played were started from the bottom and hot in here.

Man krs ole snuffleupagus Face *** ain't doing ****. Them days are long gone.

Guarantee that KRS-ONE could still slay 95% of today's rappers. Nelly is trash.
Dude couldnt even slay Nelly...
THIS...SO what does that make KRS1
laugh.gif

What would he gain from slaying a clown rapper?
He gained nothing from losing to Nelly.  He tried, he failed, he continued to be forgotten about.  He went at Nelly to attempt to gain back some fame/attention.  Dudes in here really fronting like they don't sing along and know ALL the words to Country Grammar.  I never been anywhere in public and heard a KRS 1 song in a solid 2 decades.  Nelly shrug

Anyone who says Nelly is better than KRS is not only an idiot, but knows absolutely nothing about Hip Hop. Nelly is a Pop artist who makes music for a bubble gum market by bastardizing rap music. People who purchased Nelly albums are in the same category of consumers who purchased Vanilla Ice & MC Hammer albums when they were popular. The only mistake KRS made was thinking that going after Nelly was going to have the same outcome that going after MC Shan had. The type of people who think Nelly makes good music would never be able to grasp KRS and what he means to the culture.
