Do You Respect Your Elders? Vol. I dont

But the phrase in my opinion means to respect them by not helping them out or activity listening.
A beggar is a beggar but you dont have to be disrespectful.
Common sense thing like
Holding doors and giving you set up for any elder
Calling them mrs or mr ( first name )


Old fools spit a lot of non sense becuase they want to be listend to.

Would you op want some one to listen to you ramble after all your friends have died and only young people make eye contact with you.
 
I don't, but I don't respect many people.

For me, there's respect, a lack thereof, and then disrespect. Like I said, I don't offer out respect often, but I treat everyone with a general level of courtesy until they give me a reason to treat them any differently.

But yeah maybe I don't put myself in crazy situations enough but an elder has never put me in a situation to make his face beat up my hands.

I'm not about to be putting no old man in the hospital all willy nilly fam :lol:. He would have to do some wild **** like spit or take a #DrizzyDrizzle on me or rub his finger on my lips and make me go get da Abreva.

The phrase doesn't apply to all elders, and there's a difference between respecting someone and respecting their opinion.
 
I respect those who show respect for me. Age doesn't mean anything. Some old folks are dbga. I hate hate hate the old folks that be talking to you, walk away, come back to talk some more, and walk away until they done with that cycle. Mannnnnnnn that **** gets on my nerves

Only the respectful ones. Some old ppl think being old gives them free reign to do w/e and when called out on it want to trot out the respect your elders, you weren't raised right, where's your manners, blah blah more garbage
 
Elders know things I don't


I learned how to hit it from the back from an Elder
 
I like working with old dudes because they're wise and know all kinds of tricks of the trade. I don't care who you are, you can learn something from everybody.

Some old people really anger me though. Talking about "This generation is lazy, back in my day this, back in my day that!" Shut the hell up, you're the reason our generation can't do any of the things they were able to do. This country will be better off once the baby boomers are gone.
 
You can teach disrespectful elders how to respect you without disrespecting them. That's exactly what most of them are really looking for anyway since they're at a point where they've slowed down and are going through other changes.
 
ken shamrock did an interview where he explained his life-long rage...

he said he used to walk around demanding respect from everyone...and when he didn't get it...he would rage

said he is now at least aware of this & tries to be a better person

a therapist probably explained this to him...but i still took value from what he said
