Bryson Tiller Thread (T R A P S O U L)

Trapsoul as a whole sucks. The best songs on there are don't and exchange. This is a better project overall there's just no standouts.

Edit: I just really really really listened to set it off :smh: there is not a song on trapsoul better than that aside from don't and exchange for obvious reasons. Nooo way that is HEAT

I disagree. Right my Wrongs >>> I like Trap Soul better.
Album is ehh. I didn't really feel anything listening to it.
Like everyone else said, it's not bad, but I expected way more.
The songs kind of start to sound the same.

Don't Get Too High

I mess with it off of the first listen.

Not wowed or anything, but it was an enjoyable listen for the most part. I agree with people that felt like Trap Soul had higher high points though.

 @ that argument on "No Longer Friends"

This would definitely benefit from being cut by about 8-9 songs. With the way we digest music these days...19-20 songs in an era where so many ****** are riding the same waves...albums start sounding more and more repetitive. The Mary J. flip on Stay Blessed is godly tho.

The longer projects are all for the streams. And I bet you really not gon like Chris Brown project then.

I'm glad he's been successful, but I really think this album suffers from him being rich. He was barely "deep" in the first place and I don't think he had the room to take a step back into vapidness.

His "everyman" quality isn't there anymore and this kind of sounds like he's not that invested in what he's saying or doing because it'll be fine.

And it seems he knows that his appeal is being relatable, but it's like he can't fake it. And he's trying to. It's like he's doing a bad Bryson Tiller impersonation.

That's from two listens. I'll see how I feel next week.

After playing a few songs, it's so damn repetitive and he's not great at singing or rapping. **** this ****. Generic as hell. This ain't R&B.

Ain't heard it yet but these 2 just confirmed Trapsoul is better.

  basically

in terms of moments trapsoul will be hard to top cause I was playing it before most people knew what it was around me

I was bagging chicks and playing it around them and they were going crazy harassing me bout who it was

I was also back and forth to cali and houston working and messing with chicks from both

I'll listen to the new project a lil later and see what's up

Alright I gave it a few spins

Whip test / Night drive

Out of 19 songs I only like 5 at the most

Trap Soul was just refreshing

The beat choice, The way the songs flowed.

I'll see y'all in the Yachty thread

I've only gotten to Set It Off so far, but I'm unimpressed. He needs a new producer first of all. He needs someone to fine tune his sound and elevate it. All the songs sound similar to me. Flame suit on, but Something Tells Me is my favorite so far. That's how average I think this project is.

To keep it short, prefer Trapsoul.

Album was way too long, feel like it was because he wanted to do more "rap tracks".

Standout songs for me are Don't Get Too High, Stay Blessed, We Both Know, and No Longer Friends.

Gotta slip just another interlude and let me explain into the album to give it more replayability

VARNELL HILL VARNELL HILL & jr paperstacks jr paperstacks

Summed it up quite well.

He lost his appeal the moment his average joe shtick went away.

I wonder how the way streaming affects albums and artists loading them with more songs will affect how we rate albums and their quality.

When The Weekend came thru and crushed the buildings by releasing 3 masterpieces, he did so at 9 songs a piece. Which to me was the perfect amount of songs.

Drake was able to pull off the long album on More Life cause his variety of styles. But someone like Bryson can't excel with that format.
