Bryson Tiller Thread (T R A P S O U L)

Yeah, I tried to vibe with this all weekend and also all day Friday while at work... didn't quite find the connection

Unfortunate to say the least

Sophomore slump, hope he can come back stronger. For now I'll hope for guest features/collaborations in the near future

Trapsoul as a whole sucks. The best songs on there are don't and exchange. This is a better project overall there's just no standouts.

Edit: I just really really really listened to set it off

there is not a song on trapsoul better than that aside from don't and exchange for obvious reasons. Nooo way that is HEAT
Exactly how i feel. Co-signing on everything
Ain't heard it yet but these 2 just confirmed Trapsoul is better.
lmfao

  basically

Damn I'm in the minority I guess but I **** with this heavy, even more than trapsoul

Random short story about trapsoul lol so I hoop with a guy who works with Tiller, (Swiff) and we were talking about Till and trapsoul and Bryson hated it haha he never called it an album. It was a compilation of records (some of most of which were out) that the label begged Bryson to give them so they could have something tangible to capitalize off of him. He was adamant abt how trapsoul wasn't his debut album but once it got super successful he changed tunes lol

Anyway, back to TTS, I feel like this is the exact album I expected from him and for that, I rock with it. My only critique is that with his writing, sometimes he overdoes it and it comes off a bit 'parody accountish'. Like his writing sometimes comes off as a literal depiction of those fake deep twitter accounts

And his singing. I enjoy it, but sometimes it sounds so light, Flemsy, and struggle

Oh and to that writing point, you can tell Drake is his muse musically and at times, it's to the detriment

Personal opinion, (and I'm sure most won't share it lol) drake is a gifted songwriter especially on the R&B side of things (2009, 2010 drake) and his ability to straddle that line of emotive style of songwriting without coming off cheesy and corny is special.

Bryson isn't as good, so sometimes he comes off as cheesy and trying to be emotive and deep.

What I don't have a problem with is the run time on this thing. I don't mind my favorite artist loading up their albums but I can understand why it would be a chore to listen to it. However I don't see that being an issue with this project. Despite it being 19 songs, it clocks in at under an hour. Most albums with like 12 songs are longer than that

Sonically it just doesn't sound as good as trap soul for me. This is the writing, his singing, the production and cadence ..

Whether it be that trap soul was more pop, or what have you, idk, tts just doesn't draw me in nor invoke much of my imagination or emotion

If he really wasn't happy with trap soul so be it but it was definitely a movement that got many fans to instantly follow him

Y'all would rather him put out some fake minimalistic 9 song album  and tell yourself it's high quality :smh:

****** mind is lost, it's almost like high prices u assume high quality. **** is dumb. I'd rather someone put out 15 20 tracks and I like half or more than a dude make 10 songs and I only like 5  **** is a joke.

Never that. I'll leave it to the NT group think cry babies to be in here crying soon enough. Just pointing out the idiocy that's all.

True to self > trapsoul

Self-made
Money problems/benz truck
Blowing smoke

Got some fire on here

The thing about long albums that are on one note (like this album is) is that they start feeling like a chore to listen to. I be checking to see when that **** is over. Like "Damn. 5 more songs?!"

And I know that I could logically remove the songs I don't like and make a shorter album. But I kind of remember those deleted songs exist and it makes me frown. And the album loses some cohesion. Specific to this album, I didn't even know when some of the songs had ended or began.

But I really don't think any of the songs on there are bad enough to never want to hear again so I wouldn't delete them. But I also just wish they weren't there.

I feel like this logic is really stupid. Just delete a song you don't like.

But this is EXACTLY how I feel when I listen to albums, especially long ones

My expectations were way to high. Album isn't bad, but it's not good either. It's mediocre, but I was expecting TrapSoul part 2. Oh well

I wonder what his thought process was during the creation of this album?

Like, what sound was he trying to achieve?

Your favorite artist is putting out 20 track albums with like 5 good songs though, so this post is pretty irrelevant

This  it's sort of like he's just talking into the mic, which may be 10 feet away from him

80% of bruh post sound like he high.

These long albums are a side effect of the streaming era, whether you wanna believe it or not. More tracks more streams more royalties. Before this, album lengths as a whole had been trending downwards.

As far as Trapsoul, I've been following dude a min so I already know a lot of those were loosies and old songs. "Don't" was like 6-7 months old on SoundCloud when they hit the button on it.

It's kinda scary tho when a compilation of old songs they threw together sound more interesting than an album he actually sat down and worked on. Whoever said this sound like an impersonation is spot on. Dude **** was already kinda vapid as it is.
