She was gone far too soon. I remember I was devastated when I heard about it on the radio. I had the meanest crush on her growing up she was damn near perfect to me. Beauty, brains, and personality.

Anyways, RIP baby girl

Still listen to her stuff, might be my all time personal fav female singer

RIP and will always be appreciated

I was in the 9th grade. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news.

Aaliyah's debut album was my first cop :pimp:

Still remember waking up mad early and seeing the news on MTV.

I was legit sad. Probably the first time I was ever affected like that by a celeb's death. It just seemed unfair that baby girl could die such a tragic death right as her star was really beginning to shine.

man, my boy of 20 years has ever only called me and woke me up early twice in my life, one was when 9/11 happened the other was when this angel was taken back up to heaven.

I was crushed, was really looking forward to seeing her in the matrix sequels(wonder if the person that took over got her role shortened) and I miss new music from her, imagine her and beyonce, or john legend, a track wit ye producing, or common spitting, makes me sick to think of what could've been

I remember this day
RIP
use to have a crush on her too
She seemed so cool and laid back

May she RIP. I remember being on a trip in Florida with my family when I heard that her plane went down.

Remember flipping through channels one late night/early morning and catching the scroll on MTV, caught me off guard. "Rock the Boat" was #1 on 106 for like 2 years. Shame how it all went down.

A Aaliyah track featuring common produced by ye........ :pimp:

One in a million and rock the boat are 2 of the best songs recorded of any genre.

Smooth, Soothing voice. Was just beginning her reign.

I was a freshman was well . I couldnt believe it either that morning on MTV when i heard what happened

Freshman year of hs but I found out when I was on my way to church that Sunday morning. I vividly remember the radio host sending his condolences :frown:

I remember it was the day before my sophomore year of HS. I feel like if you were born before '88 and are part of the "MTV" ya'll knew Aaliyah was going to do big things. Beyoncé got lucky she came after Aaliyah IMO.
