The NBA Draft Thread

I think us "interested in Fox and Smith" is more likely to get the Magic or Kings to trade us their pick and another asset for #3 so we can move back and take Monk...although I wouldn't be completely against Smith with our pick
Pretty much exactly what it has to be...

They trying to Hinkie someone...

The problem is that last time Colangelo tried to Hinkie someone, we ended up giving away Noel for a pair of second round picks....

I've seen some wide ranging mocks when it comes to leaf, Justin Jackson, bam and OG

Anywhere else from lottery to edge of first or even second round for all these guys

Seems like there's an abundance of "this guy will be the steal of the draft" which makes the class fun
It sounds like everyone outside of Fultz has a major weakness in their game.  Which means there will be a lot of busts in addition to steals.

This recent D'Aaron Fox love is truly stunning to me .

Maybe I missed it....but seeing him being damn near considered a top 3 prospect is weird to me.

He came in at like 7 in the class, went out had a great year, really performed well in big games/against top tier talent, seems to have a good work ethic, and has all the tools (outside of shooting) to be a really great PG at the NBA level. The tournament certainly put this hype into over drive, but he was a fringe top 5 talent already. Plus people are hyper critical right before the draft. There have been plenty of people though that were high on him all year

I think people are also high on Fox's intangibles as well.
Agreed.  His attitude just seems like he is the type of dude who will work his butt off.  Not to mention he is uber athletic and pretty good on the defensive end of the floor.  I wouldnt be surprised if he ends up being a top 2 player in this draft.

I think folks just need to realize that not all drafts are created equal and to have realistic assessments

For instance I feel like folks automatically think if you're a top 3 pick you're supposed to be a franchise player. Every draft isn't built the same way...

D'Lo hating on Lonzo already?

[thread="634760"]Too much uncertainty with Diallo. Nets have to make sure they hit on every pick given their situation.[/thread]

I dont think he's ready yet and is pretty raw, but Nets should've given him a guarantee. Next year there's a good chance he goes in the lottery and getting that type of potential at 22 or 27 would've been better in the long run.

Am I wrong to liken Sindarius Thornwell to Jae Crowder?
Thornwell has much better perimeter skills than Crowder coming out of college but he also had to have the ball to be effective at S Carolina so he'll need to learn how to spot up and play off the ball

The Jon Isaac one from Monday was a good listen. Sync so arrogant though . Always bishing Danny
Wild. Smith only shot 14 floaters all year. That is wild to me, but not surprising since he is always trying to break the rim

He needs to work on his advanced handles though.

Rabb shoulda came out last year, now he lost a significant amount of money just to play another year on a mediocre Cal team :smh:

Long as he puts on weight he should be a good contributor in the rotation tho, he does a lil bit of everything and he's smart

I think Miles Bridges is gonna be a real good player in this league. Too bad he stayed, would've loved the Knicks to grab him at 8.
