The NBA Draft Thread

You're banking on one, or both, of them to become league average perimeter shooters. If not, your two primary ball handlers aren't a threat past 15' which would be a disaster.
Maybe, but there really isnt a much better option at 3 other than maybe Monk and Tatum which is kind of a reach.  It's also hard to tell what a players role will be without seeing them play in any NBA games.  Their talent evaluation process has been pretty spot on thus far with maybe the exception of Okafor who I dont know would have realistically gotten drafted in his place.

LeBron is effective because he has shooters around him
Fox can't shoot so it isn't a good fit to put him next to Simmons
Josh Jackson, DSJ and even Tatum are better fits than Fox for the Sixers

you can add shooters through free agency, I don't think the fit would be a problem as they build towards the future

or they could trade with the Kings and take Monk and Mitchell

Still feel like Monk to the 6ers is the player that makes the most sense (besides Fultz).

Feel like Philly is throwing smoke screens to trade drown and take Monk cuz he'd be a reach at 3.

Wasn't sure of what role he has now ?
I was going to say, transition from what exactly

As long as they transition him onto the court...

Ben will be fine. A broken foot is nowhere near as bad as a tear. Fully expect him to be playing in summer league. Unless there's more phantom injuries :nerd:

Sixers might be in a really good situation. Trading down while acquiring assets/good rotation players and still getting their guy (Monk) is a win win for them.

Thing is, who wants to trade up to their spot? The only team I can really think of is Orlando if they really want Jackson or something like that.

Lauri is a better shooter than Frank and he's more mobile
Kaminsky is like a poor man's Olynyk

Lauri is a better shooter as a Freshman than Frank was as a Senior, it isn't even a comparison.

Plus, for the guy who said Lauri only shoots, he has shown flashes of being able to take it to the hoop. As only being a shooter isn't bad if you have the potential to be the best shooter in the league.

I want the Knicks to draft Issac but I don't think he'll be there with the Twolves in front of us. Realistically with the guys who are there I would want Lauri or DSJ. Lauri and KP have the potential to be an extremely unique backcourt and open things up for guards to get to the hoop at will with two 7'0, 40% shooters hanging behind the arc. Even with defensive limitations of those two, I think the offensive ceiling is so high.

cant see anyone really moving up. if you think monk is the guy, you take him. his floor is probably 6, so taking him a whole 3 spots higher is nothing

Looks like the Ball camp is considering a 76ers workout

From ESPN, I don't know why this is a perception but I think it's completely false. I don't think the underlined is true at all.... dude really didn't dominate the ball at all at UCLA, the numbers even prove it

League sources said the concern regarding the Ball-Sixers link is the organization's plan to feature forward Ben Simmons, the No. 1 pick in the 2016 draft, in a ball dominant, point-forward role next season.

Under those basketball circumstances, it wouldn't appear to be an ideal pairing. Ball is a playmaking point guard who figures to need the ball in his hands to maximize his true potential. However, the Sixers believe Ball and Simmons can mesh at a high level, sources say.
