The NBA Draft Thread

I get that we are in the draft thread, but there are more ways to go about rebuilding then hitting the bottom. Wolves been terrible going on 10+ years and just finally edging playoff contention.
Its all about acquiring that star player to build around no matter how u do it..or developing multiple all stars ...its just that the draft is the easiest way to get that franchise player

And Donovan Mitchell definitely not good enough of a prospect to take him over Bledsoe right now for anything

What Phoenix needs to do is unload Alex Len before that rookie contract expires. Not sure he's going to do enough next season to carve out a place for himself in that rotation.
They missed the boat on that one. He's a RFA this summer.

Lonzo on the Lakers: "They have a lot of good players. I just think they need a leader at point guard. I feel I can bring that to the team."

The key is acquiring a superstar player to build around and the best chance at getting that superstar player is getting a top pick. Only once in a blue moon there comes a Giannis or Kawhi. Without that type of player you're never going to make any type of serious noise. Look at the Sixers team from like 4-5 years back for example.... Jrue, Lou Will, Iguodala, Thad Young, Speights, Vucevic, Lavoy Allen, Evan Turner, Nick Young, Hawes....that team could have probably continued making the playoffs like every year and never made it past the second round. It's just pointless to settle into that instead of a complete rebuild to find that superstar if the LeBrons and Durants aren't signing with you.

Yea Fran tweeted something about it. Both teams would be stupid to deal those guys imo. Rarely any draft trade rumor ever comes true.

This Lonzo Ball hype around Los Angeles is straight up Grade-A Comedy. Media act like dude led UCLA to the National Championship and is the next coming of Magic Johnson lol

This kid got torched by Fox for 39 points in the biggest game of the year. Lonzo's body language in that game spoke a thousand words, and was just a glimpse of the type of leadership (or lack thereof) you can expect from Ball once he hits the pros. And Magic was sitting courtside too

The fact Lonzo already promising to bring a winning atmosphere to L.A. as if he's the next great star and as if he alone will carry the team on his shoulders is certainly a sign of bad things to come. Dude is full of himself and no matter what people say, he ain't on that "one-of-a-kind unique can't-miss type of player" like a Lebron or Magic when they came into the league.

Fox, Jackson, Monk, or Isaac to the Lakers....in that order of preference.

Lonzo better hope Fox and Jackson don't flat out impress Magic and Rob because sources are saying those within the Lakers organization who were clamoring for Lonzo last season are the same people from the old regime who are no longer there.

From what I remember, Fox got a majority of those buckets on pick and roll switches and not "torching" Lonzo. It's like how everyone thought Isaiah torched wall for 53
That game was Alford getting outcoached by Calipari more than Zo getting burnt by Fox.

I never thought I would hear someone's say that calipari outcoached someone else in my lifetime

well if my mother just had a life threatening stroke, my body language would been way worse too. Lonzo may not be once in a life talent, but I 100 % would prefer him leading the team over anyone in Lakers. If you are considered top 2 pick and have millions coming your way, you should be full of yourself. Interviews I heard from him, he seems to say the right thing and appeared pretty humble
