The NBA Draft Thread

Just rewatched Sixers/Lakers.

Man this guy Simmons vision is really unreal, it can't be overstated.

The bounce pass he made to TJ near the baseline. :x

He makes bounce passes driving to the line at any angle when other players especially his size, wouldn't even attempt it.

Brett Brown loving life, sometimes you gotta go through hell to get to heaven.

Also....

We gonna have to put some respect on Larry Nance name, great pick by the Lakers getting him where they did.

Playing it safe
In my opinion, he needs to go out there and get some traction
But I'm not a NBA coach, who am I to say

He's playing in controlled  settings in 5 on 5. Just no reason to throw him out in this too.

Brett brown seems determined to do his best to try to get Simmons to shoot no matter what

So at least he has a coach that will try like hell to force him to shoot

It's a matter of keeping the defense honest. I hope brown can get that out of him

Sixers philosophy seems to be that they can fix anybody's jumper, something about kawhi leonard. But I'm not sure it's been a vital strategy going off these past few seasons

Simmons will be fine, his shot isn't Evan Turner like which was never going to get better

trust me I an expert on seeing the difference between the two of them, I watched Evan Turner suck for many years

I don't think it's even so much fixing his jumper..The problem I have is he's not even looking to score most of the time..I don't think he needs a silky smooth jumper to be great in the NBA..but he does need to be assertive and look to score..rather it's taking the 18 footer while the defense is sagging off or attacking..for him to truly maximize his potential he has to be more assertive.

Agree.

And I'm VERY high on Ben....but as I've said before...when he doesn't take the open 15-18 footers....it hurts the team.

Brett Brown explained it when they were interviewing him during the game...It's all about confidence with his jumper. He wants him to shoot and not worry about missing. Just keep shooting...I'm sure Brown will be beating this into his head for the next several years.

Yup.

As a non shooter myself....I recognized this .

If there a shot..of course take it..but for me I just want him to be more aggressive and look to score more often..however way he can..Lebron doesn't have a knock down jumper..but you look up at the end of the game and he got 25..it's other ways to score besides shooting..

And after watching Russell a little last year and in summer league..I see a little Reggie Jackson in his game.

Man lebron's jumper has been underrated his whole career . He's never been as bad as Ben has been. Up until the past two seasons at least

Its widely considered around the league bron weakness is his jumper..Never said Bron had a bad jumper..I said he don't use it to get most of his points..TBH I don't even know how bad Simmons jumper is..I haven't seen him use it enough to judge it..
