The NBA Draft Thread

Jackson just needs to spend the next 3/4 years drilling his jumper.

I'd still take a chance on him, elite athlete, very good off the dribble at his size, already strong defender, great passer/could run your offense.

Jumper is really the only thing he's missing, every prospect besides Fultz has something.

Reading up on this kid, Isaiah Hartenstein, he is very intriguing. Nearly 7 foot with perimeter ability... One writer said he's a lil emotional and plays somewhat for himself.. but looking at dude's skill set offensively.. wow..

Also watching Josh Jackson play last night, there were several moments offensively where you're just like... that was a pro move.. and his ability to have the body control to dump some of those passes off after penetration.. very impressive

Respect your opinion, but can you at least say what makes you say this about a 17 year old kid?

Also, calling Bender a bust already? Sheesh, lol

This guy is playing against kids half his size. All it shows me is that he is bigger than those kids and he has a quick release to his shot.

Also, that first video is probably the worst highlight video I've ever seen (from an editing perspective).

You could just tell Bender isn't an NBA player. Little too soft, lacks physicality, no "it" factor. I think at best he's a role player averaging 12 and 6.

This German kid is like us playing against middle school kids. Bigger, stronger, taller than all of them. But NBA is a whole different beast. I cant even see him producing like this agaisnt college athletes. People think if you're 7 feet tall and can shoot you have a spot in the NBA. For certain players that just doesn't hold true imo.

1. How prey tell could you tell this?

Guess what? 7 footers who dominate at the youth level, and get minutes at 17 year old on major euro league teams will always go high in the draft, just because one of them doesn't work out doesn't mean we need this hindsight analysis of why he was never and NBA player to begin with.

2. Wait wait wait.

You can't see him producing against college kids? You serious? Dude is 7 feet tall and can catch a basketball, that alone makes him a high major talent.

I think you are deeply confused about the quality of pplay in NCAA vs high level euro pro leagues.

I have no real opinion on this German kid, but I don't see how you can just dismiss a reasonably mobile 7 footer as a not an NBA player.

Fultz, Monk and Josh Jackson are probably the best fits for what the Sixers need out of their top draft pick

Also, I don't understand where this whole "Josh Jackson can't shoot" thing always comes from on here. I see this dude with nice form knock down deep 3's and even pull-up/turnaround jumpers every game I tune in of his.

He's shooting 54% from the line and 32% from the college 3. 37.0% on 2 point jumper.

So below average to terrible on every shooting stat.

Also to my eye his release point varies, is king of low and sometimes shoots it on the way down.

So saying he can't shoot seems pretty reasonable imo.

Bro, a 7 footer will pretty much ALWAYS have a spot in the league, regardless if he can shoot or not...

Not saying dude will be a stud by any means I just said his skill set was very intriguing.. to me it's a bit unfair to call a 17 year old a bust... hasn't even gotten a chance to barely be pro out in Lithuania...

Watching him in the game against UK, Jackson form literally was changing by the shot.

It's definitely a problem but even if he only becomes an average shooter all the other parts of his game raise his floor.

How do you view Jackson vs say Jaylen Brown as a frosh coming into the league...

Feel like Jackson is a bit more refined offensively than Jaylen was coming out...

Jackson handle/vision blows Brown out the water and I would say Jackson is an even better athlete.

If that's the case, I'm very comfortable with Jackson if I have a 4-7 slot..  even if his floor is uncertain...

Maybe Josh Jackson learns to shoot, maybe he doesn't.

His future ceiling hinges entirely on this.

I'm done pretending like I know which outcome is more likely.

I've said it before. And I'll say it again.

Josh Jackson is the 2nd best prospect in this class. Maybe even the first.

He's THAT talented. All he needs to do is become an average shooter.

You can't teach the other parts of his game. Size, athleticism, length, vision, bball iq, heart etc.

Also...... 19/12 for Jon Isaac
