The Cool Kids - Before S#1T Got Weird (Triple Album) Out Now!

Guess he is actually dropping the new tape after all.

I thought both songs were alright, though they don't really sound much like his earlier tapes that he was referencing aside from subject matter. I think that'll only happen when he works with some of those producers again. I am curious to hear the rest of it.

I literally have not bought an album in forever, but I have to support these guys. Itunes here I come!

Just finished listening to it. Honestly I was a little skeptical considering it's been six years since their last album, which itself came out way later than it should've. However, I was pleasantly surprised.

First off, Chuck's production on here is top-notch. He did a good job updating The Cool Kids' sound that we all loved, yet kept it sounding true to its roots. The club dance songs towards the middle of the album caught me a little off-guard, but they had me nodding my head. They should've made at least one of them a single. The beat at the end of T.D.A. with Larry June's second verse was so smooth that I wish it was its own song.

I initially questioned the number of features, but most of them ended up just being for hooks so the album didn't feel as overloaded by features. The verses were about what I'd expect, though there were some slightly deeper verses as well. I've always felt that they've had some deeper bars, but they almost seemed hidden between the punchlines and the descriptions of old-school/new-school swag. Maybe I'm just more aware of it because of Mike's recent solo work.

Overall, it's a solid project and I'm curious to see if they can generate any momentum off of it. Hopefully it's not a case of a day late and a dollar short.

Glad theirs a thread for this, aside from the A-Trak joint this album doesnt have a skippable song on it. Mikey was hyping the Jermiah track leading to the release date and now I know why cause its dope. Chuck was tapping into all new sounds and he's really progressed as a producer (word to Jean Jacket). This album had a little something for everybody and if you didnt hear any of their previous projects you could still bump the hell out of this. The Set is in constant rotation :pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp::pimp:

Sir Michael Rocks' accounts allegedly got hacked (probably trolling tbh) and the hackers leaked this mixtape:
