As a journalist in the field, you're used to people walking by you and standing next to you. She wasn't fully aware that he had a gun. When you're being interviewed, your focus is literally on the camera like you're a deer in the headlights.

This is not a TV show, and it doesn't matter what she may have done before or IF she did anything to even remotely relate to what you are blindly predicting. He shot her and killed her. Whatever injustices you for whatever reason think she may have done to him in the past don't explain killing somebody. He's in the wrong and she's innocent.
