Breaking News: Two Journalists Shot Dead on Live TV

I don't see how the cover is OD. They're reporting what happened.

Like it or not, a dude live tweeting and first person live streaming **** like this is a moment in history, good or bad.

 at being appalled at kids walking by and seeing that but not being mad if you walked in on them with that exact same frame on their TV while playing COD or GTA.

Kids ain't as fragile as you think b.

Only people that should be offended are the victims friends/families and rightfully so.

This "fake outrage" thing went from a simple joke, to excuse a couple NTers love to use when they being closed minded.

Seriously  one of the many excuses used when someone doesn't really have a point and they're grasping for straws

You and Tr1ll really don't understand the distinction between fantasy and reality, huh?

They can't report what happened without posting a picture of the reporter getting shot?

Not to mention the fact that there are safeguards in place that prevent children from getting their hands on these games without their parents.

And a first person screenshot of an innocent person being murdered isn't on the cover, either.

A kid has as much easy access to television and online content as they do walking past a newspaper stand with this photo on it. The paper is tasteless because it's tasteless, not because a kid could walk past it and see it and it's somehow going to scar them for life.

The point is this and violent entertainment is a completely different thing. The comparison holds no weight.

We don't need to debate why it's tasteless...don't give this thread any more ideas of debate topics, man.

The images are still the same.

I don't see how hundreds of hours of blowing old ladies brains out on GTA is cool but their mind is poisoned by seeing that cover .

Of course.

But part of what makes this situation so surreal and crazy is that he was live tweeting and Go Pro-ing it. Just like it was surreal that ****** were flying whole planes into buildings.

We're y'all against the 9/11 covers that showed the plane crashes too?

Did you play GTA for the first time at 17

If you don't buy it for them they're playing it at their friends house.

agreed. . everyone is different obviously but personally i got no problems with them showing real life. like some people saying they cant watch the video. unless you know these people personally i cant see a reason for not being able to see this video. just my personal opinion.

My point is that there are safeguards. You're not going to see GTA on shelves with the cover just being an innocent person being murdered. Its also illegal to sell it to minors without a parent or guardian present.

This image plastered on the cover of the paper is everywhere I look. I saw it at least three times on the train ride from my meeting to my office, and that's a 20 min ride. I just don't think it should be that visible. Its available for anyone who needs to see it at any time online.

Obviously they're using the shock value to sell papers though, which is even more tasteless.

There's always a way around the rules, but there are rules for things like this.

Eddie Adam's work helped bring public awareness and end a war. I don't see how you can compare the 2.

This dude took his own video because he wanted to stand out from the rest of the "mass shooters" and psychopaths who have committed heinous crimes against innocent people.  He admired the Columbine shooters and the VT shooter and others.

How is broadcasting this ***hole's fantasy comparable to Eddie Adam's documentation of the brutal nature of War?

Personal opinion. There are millions of personal opinions out there. Tons of people are fine with it, tons aren't.

Personally, it doesn't bother me. I didn't watch the video just because that's some **** I don't need to see, but the images don't bother me...problem is it doesn't end with me.

Think of how the family of the victim feels about this cover.

I'm sure the shooter would have loved nothing more than for those frames to literally be front page news.

So now its about photos of someone being murdered, its about what the photo represent?

So what if the paper uses that photo to help bring public awareness for gun control? Is it ok then?

Has anyone read the article?

No one wants to see pictures of someone getting a bullet in their head.

I'm guessing I'm not the only person who see's the difference between a wartime photo taken thousands of miles away in the 1960's and a disgusting fantasy played out in almost real time on the morning news...

Daily News should not have printed a cover of a woman getting murdered.  It feeds directly into what the shooter wanted to happen, and the medias history of making household names out of these killers is long enough.

it's called empathy. the cover is wrong, but not surprising. and comparing games and television to actual events is quite stupid.

moving on.....
