** Official Rick Ross Thread "Rather You Than Me' Album March 17 2017 **

Ross and Game got substance on their projects. Especially Game. They're just not the "hot" rappers anymore. It's that simple. These dudes been around for a decade. After a decade people just move on unless your Jay or Kanye.

Kendrick, Cole and Big Krit are the only rappers of this generation who have been consistently making music with substance. Most of the young dudes that's hot right now are not putting substance in their music. So that's not the issue.

My boy played the Ross album for me, very nice. Couple generic sounding songs but still a good album. Better than Teflon Don? NAH

Now games album I thought was trash...everything just sounds outdated, forced. Boring. Just not good. I would definitely take Jesus piece over that one

There is no perfect way to drop music nowadays. I've heard people talk about this in Ross and Game's thread. Either your hot or your not. Ross and Game are are just not the "trendy" rappers right now. Both put out 2 good to great projects. At the end of day that's really all that matters.

Thug, Future and Migos have put out 4-6 projects in 12 months and they get people's attention cuz they're the dudes right now. Ain't no spacing, tapes with similar names. It's just their time.
Ross sold a lot more than Thug and Migos, tho.

I do get your point.

Game, Scarface, and Pusha easily had the best 3 rap releases last year

Drake dropped a album last year? Ross, game and pusha had the best 3 to me

I thought he was talking about WATTBA, but I forgot IYRTITL was at the very top of the year  Travis' album was a surprise though, thought it was good. Wouldn't put either of those in front of the ones I listed though, Kendrick included.

Them dudes? Migos album sold like 15k in a first week with a few thousands streams while they had" buzz" .That's terrible even in todays day in age. The verdict on young thug is still out. He got a buzz we still dont know if that will translate to anything  Everybody that drops mixtapes is "hot". Future is the only dude that in the south that took that mixtape grind and translated to something tangible with  a successful album and sold out arenas. Mixtape hot only exist on the internet.

Mixtape hot gets u booked for shows, singles charting, streams and if u are independent even better. Only a few dudes selling nowadays, literally a hand full.

Outside of Drake, Kendrick and Cole the whole game is based on mixtapes.

Albums and album sells don't mean **** now. This ain't 2003 when you're mixtape was the warm-up to you're album. The internet changed all that.

When it comes to The Games album I agree. I STILL don't see the hype for that album. It got old quick & I didnt think it was that good the begin with. Got rid of half the first disc & didnt even care to finish the 2nd disc even tho it was better than the first

My fav 3 albums last year were

Kendrick
ASAP Rocky
Travis Scott

It's a pretty sad state when an album with dope rhymes, dope beats, and dope features with no gimmicks can be referred to as overhyped and dated

Just didnt care for it. There were plenty of albums & mixtapes that were better & overlooked as well from last year

It wasnt bad but it wasnt a classic like ppl were saying. Thats the saddest part about The Games albums, I got to see how bad ppl were willing to reach just to get to call another gangsta rap album a classic after years of there not being one...

I wouldn't call it a classic, its too early even for the people that want too. But it's a good album and lived up to the hype. I hate when people make a follow up album years later to get a buzz but it worked out.

Definitely too early to tell. It was a very good album, especially as far as double discs go, as most double discs stink or are just mediocre with a few standouts. D2/D2.5 is probably the closest quality you could get to the original. I could only imagine how trash a GRODT 2 would be.

Ross should've made black dollar and black market a double joint. Took off some of them rnb joints and it would've been epic no pun

Ross was posting pics of burt on snapchat. Info on burt? I never familiarized myself with dude.
He was the mentor of Ross' mentor (Bobbie Williams) big time drug dealer in Miami. Search M.I.YAYO on YouTube it's like a documentary with more info
