People are so emotionally invested in celebrities. It really is a sad day.
Willard wants that Oscar so damn bad. It's not gonna happen, though. He was always always charming, but never particularly talented. Will Smith is the acting equivalent of Jay-Z on NT. His minions will fight until death with the understanding that they will be avenged by 2 more just like them.
With that said, Willard has been trash for quite some time. Ali, Pursuit of Happyness, I am Legend, 7 Pounds, After Earth, etc.: ALL TRASH.
This movie will have no impact whatsoever. People are acting like Will Smith is some type of box office draw. Like Focus didn't happen.
Dwayne Johnson is legitimately a more polished thespian than Willard Smith. Same can be said for LL Cool J.
I strongly agree with everything said, except I think Will is very much a box office draw. Also, the LL Cool J line was a pretty big exaggeration my man

I love it. The anguish and anger followed by a completely irrational conclusion.
Will Smith is currently box office booty. Bring up his past. It only shows how far he's fallen. He's a former action star who fooled himself into thinking he was a natural actor who had finally found his calling. That's simply not the case. He was always charming... Never really talented.
I'm not here to take anything away from him. Just putting things into perspective. He should have never played himself with that scientology talk.

It's ok to not like him. But you reaching my dude. Go look at his box office numbers. Hell, Focus even did 158mil. No matter what you say, he still doing 100 mill plus in the box office. Don't see how that's a drought. No other actor is consistently putting up those numbers in the box office.

His star isn't as bright as it was, but it isn't non-existent either.

If he was trying to pull off an Nigerian and or just African accent in general he did what he could and did a good job. People just being picky because Will is the guy to hate now.
Mind you Will has taken some **** roles and he always had the talent but he missed out on some golden opportunities to be one of the greats but its over for all that.

The real guy was very, very short and soft spoken. Everyone should watch the documentary that initially exposed the NFL, very interesting watch
