KP has the potential and emphasize POTENTIAL to be better than Dirk. He's a better defensive player than Dirk was and way more athletic than Dirk was at his age.

KP has potential to be a Dirk/Pau/Jordan/Chamberlain hybrid

^ I thought the same thing also...but thats not a bad thing since ak47 is good at everything but the problem was he was never great at 1 particular thing... but with KP i see his jumper being $ in the future

Be careful with this, I went through this with Bargnani peoeple messing with end points to make hjis stats looks similar to Dirk Nowitski.

Don't compare him to Dirk. Thats a generational talent. KP is not that kind of shooter and never has been.

Lamarcus Aldridge is a much better comparison.

I see an oversized AK-47 with a jumpshot when I look at Kristaps

stop forcing white guy =white guy comparisons.

^ How so? Lanky, seemingly well rounded. Weak side shot blockers, can get into the passing lanes, good athletes for their position. Defensive versatility is different between them though, that much is true. And the freakish height difference  or do you wanna say positional/athleticism differences completely negate that? Inform me osh kosh bosh osh kosh bosh , you always provide good insight.

I'd say Pau Gasol with a jumpshot.

Dirk worked EXTREMELY hard during his early years and was fortunate enough to have the right pieces and owner around him to help him succeed and develop his game. The one thing most people overlook or take for granted is being in the right situation and having the right people around you. It's probably the #1 driving catalyst towards a rookie's development early on. I can list several examples to further emphasize the point I'm trying to convey, but i'm sure most of you guys get the idea.

I personally think Porzee is in a good spot, but I wish Melo was more of a vocal leader and took a sincere interest in the kid. This team is missing more veteran leadership. One of the reasons why I think Towns is going to be a stud in the league is because he has someone like KG in the locker room. It doesn't get any better than that.

Don't know why Melo doesn't put Zinger under his wing and help him put himself in the most ideal positions on the floor. Like running a 2 man game with him and trying to get him in a early rhythm can't hurt right ?

AK-47 couldn't shoot really, and was an elit passer, thats the opposite of KP who isn't a passer but can shoot well for his size. They aren't really similar besides being pale alien like facial features.

I'd say Pau Gasol with a jumpshot.
.

Another forced white guy comparisons. Big part of Pau's game is elite passing, and post up skills, which he had at a young age, niether of which KP has.

THe obvious comparison is staring everyone right in the face.

- Questions about about toughness and rebounding pre draft - check.
- Jump shot reliant, but not quite lights out shooters - check.
- oversized PF - check
- Rebounded and defended better than anyone expected early - check
- extrmley low assist rate. - check

Taller Lamarcus Aldridge. People forget Lamarcus was considered a soft jumpshooter at texas, very similar to way people talked about Porzingis, many thought he was risky pick with some bustability in him.

I'd can live with 7'2 Aldridge, Porzingis defensive potential is better than Aldridges current defense. Alters almost every shot and move well laterally.

Kids work ethic and attitude mixed with his skillset should make him successful in this league.

Just needs a minutes bump (and staying out of foul trouble).

Lamarcus Aldrige?

I personally think Porzee is a better defender than LMA during their rookie seasons. Also, LMA doesn't have the same agility that Porzee has. When you look at LMA, you can tell he plays a PF. Looking at Porzee move around, he looks like a guard sometimes (obviously not as fast, but the fluidity is there).
