Also on Fisher, I think he needs to stop being a politician and be more of a coach. There's obvious cerebral factors in being a good coach, but the best coaches usually play it pretty close to the chest as well. Fisher just wants to appear perfect, and its really bothering me. Cut the BS of trying to appease the veterans, if we're gonna lose at least lose with our rookies. This crap needs to stop. I know its a small sample size of 6 games, but youve got to be more ballsy and go with your best guys regardless of feelings. I think his personality fits much better as a front office guy than someone in the trenches.

I appreciate everyone's input and analysis on the team this season, because of work I haven't been able to watch any games except for one.

I love what I see out of Porzingis, though. He's been far more aggressive and physical than I even expected, and I was a supporter/fan of picking him. I can't wait for him to start hitting 3's.

i hate how he puts Lopez on the bench for long stretches, we need him out there.

one positive from tonight: #3 only got 16 minutes.

another melo night 16 shots to score 17 points. when will people realize that this dude is just a cancer. as long as he's a knick we aren't going anywhere. good luck to our rookies with melo as our so called leader

its the 6th game of the season and still early in the year... no need to be all dramatic... give this team/melo a chance... let me ask you 1 thing if we didnt have melo at all what would be our plan be as a whole? and im talking about from when we were trading for him back in 2011... you cant seriously tell me this team would be contenders with gallo, chandler, felton, amare and mosgov... that team was playing horrible before the melo trade and showed no promise what so ever... i honestly think melo can lead us to a chip if the team around him is built the right way... if detroit can win a chip with no superstars and dirk can win 1 with the mavs being the sole superstar and same thing last year with the warriors with curry i dont see why melo cant do the same thing... im not saying melo is better than those 2 guys but all im saying is 1 superstar build around him the right way = championship.... this is a process remember that... its not guaranteed we get a superstar if melo wasnt here period and even if you have 2+ superstars its not a promise we get a chip werd to okc... so then what would be the gameplan to win a chip without melo before and after the "trade"

man put me on the Porzingis hype train. Son is real deal holyfield.

He's just got that NY swagger too. Can't wait to see how he develops.

Take Melo off this team and ask yourself if Zinger would be doing this well with defenses doubling and trapping him at every instant. Because you take Melo off and you have no reason to guard anyone else on this team. Whether you like it or not Melo's presence alone allows Zinger to develop in a low pressure environment.

A more sensible hypothetical if Melo weren't on this team would involve other players in place of the cap space he takes up. Or at least a large portion of it. Obviously if you take $23mil of player off a team defenses would have an easier time focusing attention on what's left.

After seeing Lamarcus Aldridge remove us from consideration AND Greg Monroe completely dismiss us whatsoever, I'd say HELL NO b/c the quality of players that would end up replacing Carmelo's "contract cap space" wouldn't make up for the presence Carmelo provides on the floor

Nah you buggin.

That Chandler, Gallo, Amare, Felton squad waa ballin.

Melo just has that "im never wrong" or "its not his fault or problem" attitude when things get tough on the court. He doesn't encourage anybody especially not the young guys. He tries to take it upon himself to make a run and he throws the whole rythm off.

I will not front like he's not the most disrespected star in the NBA when it comes to being reffed, but its so obvious how those things effect his play.

If he isn't hitting his shots and poking his head with 3 fingers he is miserable and shows it.

Went to the game knowing we're not beating the bucks twice in such a short span but had hope anyway. Still worth it to see kris ball out but I'm starting to wonder if I'll see a W at home in person in 2015.

Carmelo is scaring me. He seems broken. At one point in the game he ****** his dribble up and gave the ball up like there was zero intention of handling the ball properly. I HATE that this is the guy a guy like Kris is forced to look up to.

[quote name="you go boy" url="/t/635180/official-2015-2016-knicks-season-thread/3180#post_24493290" you cant seriously tell me this team would be contenders with gallo, chandler, felton, amare and mosgov... that team was playing horrible before the melo trade and showed no promise what so ever...[/quote]I agree with a lot you said but the part I quoted is simply not true. They weren't going to the chip but they were a playoff team.
After the draft I said there's no reason for a 17 win to draft a lottery player who can't immediately start, a baptism by fire, so far it seems ZDG can handle the heat decently. Im bout ready to throw Grant into the fire, LOL. He will make some rookie mistakes but no way he is worse than Caldo. Regulate him back to the 2nd unit when Affalo comes back..

Melo is struggling, he is coming off of injury but his decision making in the final quarter wasn't the best. However, Fisher has to reign him in and remind him of what to do. We had a lineup with a lot of spacing last night, I think it was Galloway/Vujacic/Melo/Williams/Kristaps (though I honestly don't want Melo and D-Will out on the court at the same time) and not once did Fisher think of having Melo post up one on one. That's an easy opportunity for him to get points, he doesn't have to overdo it looking for his shot. If they are all gonna be out there at once might as well use to floor to your advantage.

At least he learned to not have Calderon and Vujacic together. That's a plus. I don't think Fisher is ever going to be an X's and O's guy but as long as he understands to roll out the best 5 things should take care of itself.

Carmelo's attitude completely sucks. Not once have i seem him encourage, smile, laugh, or even raise his intensity or hype up the young players around him. Not for nothing if Kristaps was playing with Lebron he would have his confidence through the roof. Teaching him the game, congratulating him when he does something awesome, etc. Melo is a ME player and will end his career as a ME player. It's like in his mind he thinks he's still the player he was in his first few years in the league but in reality he has like 2 "productive" years left. It's time for this dude to get a reality check and change the way he is on the basketball court

#NT Hot Take. At that Spurs Knicks game Melo was by far the least engaged player. On the Knicks.

Everyone from coaches to ex-teammates have always expressed that Melo isn't a vocal leader but a lead by example type of guy, can't change his DNA now. I've always thought that to be a poor excuse more like a cop out.
