@IanBegley: This probably hasn't gotten the attention it deserves: Carmelo provides food/supplies for 800 Bronx families

Through his foundation, Carmelo Anthony donated 800 boxes of food & other supplies to families in an underserved neighborhood in the Bronx today. Why did he do it? "I've been there," Anthony said. "I have family in these boroughs & I know what it's like. I know this seems minute, but this is big."

Am I the only one paying super close attention to teams in front of us? I want us to be in the mix as long as humanly possible to get a spot in the Spring.

If Porzingis went to Kentucky, a majority of the hate around draft time would have disappeared. People just fear foreign players.. add to the fact that he's 7'3" and likes to shoot 3s and people panicked. Except he clearly  wanted to be in the NBA, that was never in doubt but people just saw he was from Latvia and wrote him off.

He's still got a long way to go, but people (scouts included) VASTLY overestimated how much time he would need and how much of a project he was. And even with him being a project, his talent, size, and our draft position made taking that chance an easier decision. Besides.. none of these rookies are making a team a playoff contender on their own. 7'3" kids with defensive potential, 3 point shots, and his kind of motor/attitude don't grow on trees.. he was worth the risk at draft time and I'm glad a majority of people are coming around to him.

when's the last time we had a couple guys with a ton of potential that we drafted? i wouldn't be opposed at all to a "big 3" of superstars built from free agency but there's nothing better than watching homegrown talent develop & grow together. right now we're a 6-8 seed at best but the future's bright with KP, Grant, Galloway and all our young guys.

also: Galloway's an RFA after this season so what kinda contract do y'all see him getting? i was thinking something like 4/$24M. i'd be shocked if we let him walk.

“You gotta go more into details, you know, because you can just call somebody some names, that’s not fun,” Porzingis continues. “You really gotta know something about him, you know, so you can get into his head. There’s different ways to do it, one, you can be an a—hole on the court...[or] you can be a little more intelligent, you know, try to get some painful spots in that guy’s personal life. That’s the way I look at it.”

That Hakeem shake is insane. Full contact and backing down Shaq, then shaking dude out of frame.

I figure with people always swarming you when you step outside its probably nice to be able to retreat to some peace and quiet. Probably why they tend to live further away.

i think the training center is only like 5 mins away from elmsford in tarrytown. don't know if north or south.  it's all upstate to me
