its been one game

why do you dudes think like this?

don't answer that. ptsd

He struggled to play meaningful mins against a garbage undersized Brazilian team. Look, It's one thing if he was quick and had somewhat of a jump shot and can create, but he can't even do that well.

Porzingas going to get mauled the first few years in the NBA. He's most def. 3-4 years away. You guys are mostly delusional when it comes to this stuff. I mean, I'm all for optimism, but you guys completely go overboard with it.

he doesn't have a jump shot now? can't create? now you buggin.

you can't even spell the dudes name right cmon bro watch some tape. you been away too long :rolleyes

this "garbage undersized brazilian team" split games with real madrid btw

are we really jumping to conclusions on KP after one preseason game against a non-NBA team?...

anyway, he's being inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame during halftime of our next game.

- Grant is impressive. he'll have more of an immediate impact than KP

- KOQ could be the best bargain in the NBA in a couple seasons. very skilled player & we have him locked up for 4/$16M as he enters his prime.

Porzingis is young, he's foreign, he needs to put on weight, and he's a big man.

Add all that up and yes.. he'll need some time.

I'm hoping he can get consistent minutes this season and showcase his shot and show flashes of his defensive potential because of his length. Just show those flashes and that he belongs out there and I'm happy with him this season.

The unfortunate thing, of course, is our window with Melo's prime would likely be closing right as Porzingis becomes a solid player, but that's not his fault. So the best case is he develops quickly in a couple years and Melo can still produce well enough at age 33-34.

Wow at these revelations regarding Zingis da great! LOL No new information, we knew he was a project. Shows some skill and familiarity with the game of basketball. My take is he needs strength more than weight...

See, this is more like it. Very calm and rational perspectives.

ouch I read this like this was a shot taken at me. don't be a hypocrite bud you're initial response was not calm or rational.

Obviously he's 3-4 seasons away from being the type of player he's potentially projected to be.

It was his first game ever, in the preseason, what'd you guys expect 20-10-3?

Only things I got from that game is that he was asking for the ball alot, was looked off even on mismatches, he moves well without the ball, and he hustles.

i know its only 1 game and its the preseason vs a international team but im still impressed... the offense looked like it had a flow compared to last year and the defense and rebounding looked good too... only thing i didnt like was the defense on the 3 point line but it tightened up a little bit in the second half...if you think about it we upgraded in every position on this team so i cant see how this team will be as bad as last year... 40+ wins is possible but thats if we stay healthy and everyone plays up to their potential... the first 5 games of the season though :smh:

and the chemistry looks great... these guys look like they enjoy playing together compared to last year.. and no more bad chemistry on this team jr or bargs

He needs to stay out the post. His lower body strength needs to be improved to say the least. Boxing out and gaining position is aa task for Porzingis at this time. His midrange game and three point shot look gorgeous

I can see Kristape spending a majority of his playing time this season as the weakside pinch post guy in the Triangle until he can build enough strength to play in the low block.

My dad today about the D Fish thing goes, "he needs to focus on the triangle offense, not the love triangle"

Kristaps will be fine. He's bound to struggle here and there that's part of the process. I just hope they put him in situations that suit his game best early on. Lots of pick and pops and spot ups. If we find a way to be more uptempo I think he'd adjust even faster because he can really run the floor.

Grant is gonna be starting sooner rather than later. Very solid all around and can stay calm when depended on. I think we might need to look for another PG though because Calderon doesn't have much left in the tank. He really should be third string.

Nah, man. No shots taken at all. I was talking in a very broad , general perspective. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

My initial thoughts of Porzingas was based of years of watching rookies play in the NBA. There's a certain je ne sais quoi that you can spot when you watch a rookie play and can gauge if they're going to be contributing to the team right away. I didn't see that in Porzingas. I'm not saying he's a bust and will be like Shawn Bradley (he had a solid career), but what I am saying is that he does look like he'll take 3-4 years to really be a productive player for us. He was supposed to be billed as someone who can move fluidly on the floor, create offense for himself and had a jump shot. Watching him do that in Summer League, Workouts and now his first exposure in the NBA shows me he has those skills, but it'll take some time.

I get that we drafted this kid off potential, but we really should've Mudiay. He may not has as high of a ceiling as Porzi, but he would've been effective for us right away.
