Pre-season or whatnot. But chemistry matters, and that's what this team was built on by Phil. Chemistry, and multi-skill players at each position. We didn't get the "star" but we got the players that have the skillset and the type of attitude that creates a good team environment. I don't see why these dudes can't be a really good "team" this year. Any skilled "team" with Melo leading it has a chance. That's all I'm sayin...

I'm thinking the '96-'97 Orlando Magic...yeah, I'm showing my age here but who cares lol

Melo's moving the ball much faster...he's at his best when he makes quick decisions, shoot or pass.

Is it me or does Kris's shot look so effortless. I think dude may be alright. His shooting is really damn impressive.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the best three shooter on the team in due time. Might be the best part of his game right now.

I really don't think he'll be as overwhelmed as people think. He has a way to go of course but he has a good base of skills to build off of as is.

He can definitely hit the 3 and block shots. Having those traits already is gonna help this team

some analysis from a non-Knicks fan:

@lazenby: Hey, man, you can say what you want, but the Knicks are in a good place. They've had a good training camp. A lot of energy. And hungry dudes

@lazenby: Melo looks great. He's got some help. Major help. He doesn't have to do it all. The second unit is going to do major damage.

@lazenby: Sasha? Many question marks about his signing. He's gonna have some impact. Porzingis can make plays. He has tons of frontcourt help too.

@lazenby: Seraphin. Williams. O'Quinn. Serious ballers. Hungry. Energetic. Yes, it's early. But the Knicks got something. Melo is a different cat too

@lazenby: Grant is just starting to show how good he is with screen and roll.

@lazenby: I like how Fish wants them to play. Pace, space, and triangle. Knicks show nice promise. And Lopez will continue to show more offensive game

@lazenby: New York's mere depth is quite impressive. Not getting Aldridge will be a blessing in disguise, crazy as that sounds.

@lazenby: Knicks had to move some good players to find a mix that works for what they want to do. It hasn't been pretty. But it has a chance to be.

@lazenby: Last year, Melo didn't know how to work in the triangle. He already shows signs of a very different level of involvement. He's more engaged.

@lazenby: Porzingis is an old head. Speaks good English. Phil lit him up with Shawn Bradley comparison but he really didn't need it. A gym rat.

@lazenby: Knicks have the pieces to be a good defensive team. Energy. Depth. Some nastiness. This second unit will get some separation.

@lazenby: Probably the biggest factor could be their rebounding. Offensive and defensive.

@lazenby: The Knicks players spent time together in August. Good chemistry developing. Interesting to see how Melo's minutes develop. 34-35? 30?

@lazenby: Melo playing fewer minutes, having more help, will make him much more efficient, free him up to become a killer in the triangle.

And Afflalo still haven't played, im expecting him to be the starting 2. averaging 14-18ppg

We can be 7th, 8th seed.

The good thing about this team compared to last year is none of them need the basketball to be effective. These guys provide effort, rebounding and defense
