With what's happening tonight, I'm so grateful to have been watching basketball for 20+ years lol

Never thought I would see a team have a chance to break the Bulls record....and Kobe...damn...I know a lot of people didn't really like him...but I grew up a fan...I still got his rookie card and champion replica jersey from the 90s lol

I will be watching both at the same time lol

even though this season was another disappointing one, there were some positives...

melo is now putting more effort into other aspects of his game aside from scoring
we got KP who looks promising for the next decade
grant shows he can play well AND get to the rim when he gets minutes
the rolo signing ended up being a much better deal, than we initially thought
we actually won 32 games
and we didnt make any stupid moves to set us back cap wise

could be better, but at least we're not the lakers

Eh we could've been 5 to 7 games over .500 when they were 22-22 if they got good coaching.

Which would've been overachieving. We won 17 games last year. It's not that easy to be a playoff team immediately after that w/ a brand new roster of average players.

Season wasn't even disappointing. Y'all expectations were just unrealistic.

Only reason it was disappointing is cause we started 22-22. We were playing with effort & it resulted in wins.

All of a sudden everyone just stopped trying .

thats what im saying. its not like we were garbage the whole season. we were .500 half way through and then just fell off. we couldve made the playoffs realistically. detroit only won 11 more games than us. considering melo and KP each sat out 10 games. not that we wouldve went 10-0, but we couldve squeezed out a couple of wins. also, we lost some close games due to bad coaching. so we werent a play off lock, but we couldve made it with some minor changes.

Felt like once Lance Thomas got hurt the season was over. Sounds crazy, but he hustled and was our best defender and an efficient scorer. Once he got hurt we couldnt stop anyone. Not saying it's correlated, but it also coincided w/ Gallo's shooting coming down to earth and Afflalo starting to suck around the same time too. The only positive of Rambis' tenure was to alienate AA enough that he probably won't opt in.

Even if we aren't in win-now mode (and are wasting Melo's remaining years), at least we're finally set up to be a normal franchise after this season, which we haven't been able to say since probably before we gave Allan Houston that huge contract. We have our picks going fwd, 2 young first rders who look like they could be starters w/ Grant and KP and don't have any bad contracts (outside of Caldo, who is mercifully expiring next yr). I'd really like to see them re-sign DWill and Lance Thomas, and let Grant and Wroten play and develop at the 1. I'm a little worried about throwing $ around trying to make a big splash on someone older just to try to compete now for Melo, bc it looks like we're more than one or two pieces away.

Afflalo was so bad Sasha Vujacic finished the season with a higher PER than him
indifferent.gif
But he's one of the premier SG's in the league.......

That stat is garbage. Affalaffalo was bad and Sasha was even worse. Mgmt sat Affalaffalo for business reasons, not because there was a better option...
