guys need to have patience. we are finally in a position to build something good. once this year's draft is over we will have our picks and the cap will rise again next year. we moving in the right track. don't let the media influence ya'll.

Let me preface this with, I want the Knicks to be good. Has always been my position.

But are you really in a position to build something good right now?

You have $30mil in cap space, and if you use all of that, you'll have another $30mil the year after.

The names are not joining this year. You guys will end up maybe around .500 best case in 2016.

Just go look at the FA names, what PG changes this team in 2016? And you guys desperately need a PG, and Phil doesn't even want to look at any. Or at least says they are not important, in a league where guys who can move the ball dominate.

Your pick will be a middle of the round guy in 2017. Which unless you're really lucky, will not be more than a weak starter for a couple of years.

How many names in 2017 are realistic? Maybe Chris Paul, who will be 32 to Melo's 33? That's not a position to build something good. That's like a 1 year shot, and then you have to break it back down to just Kristaps and start from there.

And I don't even think Melo hurts the franchise's future outlook either right now.

Add into the fact that Kurt Rambis is the leading candidate to get the job... How good do you expect this team to be in the next couple of years?

The team isn't building anything good until Kurt Rambis is gone, as well as Phil. And by the time that happens, it'll be time that Melo needs to go as well.

Here's the biggest problem with Phil..

He's on the Mount Rushmore of coaches. Still think he could drag a mediocre team to the playoffs. Not sure they contend, but they'd squeeze into the playoffs. Just because he can coach his *** off. I think the Knicks would be better if he was coaching as well. Which is an obvious statement, I know.

But the NBA has moved on from his style of play. Almost every team that is really good has changed their philosophy from 5 years ago.

Phil wants to do it his way. He wants his system. He wants his types of coaches. He wants his types of players.

But when you ask Phil.... "Great you want everything catered to you, that's wonderful.. Are you coaching?"

When the answer is no, you know you are getting screwed.

You can't tailor everything to you, and then pawn it off on somebody else, and assume that it will work.

If Phil was coaching, this whole discussion is 100% different.

But i'll continue to rationalize until an actual move is made w/o the influence of what the garbage NY media reports.

I think we all have patience. The problem is lack of progress and the fact that our president of basketball operations is saying all the wrong things.

We need a PG badly, but Phil says he's not looking for one. We need a more competent coach. Phil fired Fish, Rambis sucks, but yet he wants to keep Rambis. We traded THJR for Grant, but hardly played him. Phil said he wasn't helping the team win, but Sasha and Jose were?

Phil has done nothing but the opposite of what should have been done. Now he might even put us in a bigger hole.

Melo might not be the player he was in his first couple of seasons here, but he definitely anchors the team and relieves KP of burdening the load. If Melo doesn't like the moves/hiring this offseason, then he's probably gonna leave. That puts pressure on our coveted future star in KP. Then what if KP breaks down and doesn't develop as well bc he's forced to be the main guy?

Then where does that leave us? Another season or seasons of mediocrity when we paid Phil Jackson a lot of money to draft KP and keep us at the 10-12th seed?

We do this same song and dance every year.

We got cap space!
We got Melo
Players will come!

Then nothing. We suck again. Go through the motions.

Then its We got cap space! We got Melo! Players will come!

This is a trend. Been the trend since before Melo actually, gotta recognize the signs when they hit you in the face.

Phil is letting his ego get the best of him. This doesn't sound like a smokescreen or whatever it is. It's a familiar feeling of disarray.

I never thought players would come though

. Y'all was just fooling yourselves. Especially w/ this playoff talk this year. I'm just saying i'm not gonna sit around & pout about a rumor reported in the media until something actually happens. If imma be mad, it's gonna be for a legit reason. The minute I start getting mad at something for no reason then i'll be come my girl.

That's the thing bruh...I wasn't either. I had no expectations. But when we can't improve on the things we can actually control such as the handling of the young guys, what offense we want to run in a 2 year period something is telling me something is wrong. I'm not mad...I think the word is tired especially because it reeks of familiarity. I wouldn't even care if we missed the playoffs again as long as I saw a real effort towards improvement. Not in terms of wins necessarily but approach. It makes me weary and I haven't even watched this team consistently since lord knows when.

This has been my problem with him all along. Dude wants a proctor not a coach. And tbh we dont know what hes capable of without a great roster. If we had a squad i could most def see him pulling a rat riley move

Patience isn't the problem. I could be patient for 5 years if we were taking steps towards a championship but it's always a step forward then 3 steps back.

In 2012 we figured out the formula to win: 3's & defense. Then the very next season we went completely away from what won us 54 games & a playoff series.

Someone could say "The Knicks won 17 games last season & 32 this season, they made progress". Nah, we didn't accomplish anything. After a strong 1st half of the season we completely fell apart. Literally everything went to ****.

I'll be happy if we're in the playoffs next season. Anything less than that is another failed season.

My patience ran out with this organization a decade ago.

Patience is wasted if the organization is making knucklehead move after knucklehead move. You can most certainly rebuild in New York...if you do it right.

The narrative was always that you couldn't really rebuild in New York. All these years we spend trying to wing it could have been spent actually rebuilding and not trading away draft picks.

Blows my mind that we're still dealing with the same nonsense 10+ years later.

This ain't the same front office as 10 years ago. But alright I'll just be patient by myself. Less stress for me
