Warriors assistant coach Luke Walton already has interviewed with at least two teams, including the Knicks and Nets, according to an NBA source.

Walton had pulled himself out of consideration from the Nets, who announced the hiring of Kenny Atkinson on Sunday.

According to a source, Knicks president Phil Jackson already has spoken with Walton, though it’s unclear if it was just a phone interview. The Post reported in Saturday’s editions the Warriors would give Walton permission to talk to other teams as long as it doesn’t interfere with the playoff push.

As long Walton brings the GS playbook with him I'm cool with it

Not going to matter. They have the best scorer the NBA has ever seen. They have a top shooting guard, a player that routinely puts up triple doubles and does a little bit of everything in Green. And their role players know their position on the team. Harrison Barnes or AI would easily be our 3rd best players. So Walton isn't going to make that much of a difference. His success is based off of being at the right place at the right time.

Tbh, I think the Warriors and Spurs style of play can make any team a playoff contender. I'm not saying that they will be as successful as either team, but the systems allow mediocre players to establish a role and only be concerned with that role. They don't have guys like a patty mills or shaun livingston out there tryna score 20ppg. So yes, I'm all for Walton if he can bring a similar style of play as the Warriors.

Isola is saying Walton turned us down already

So Sean Marks, Spurs man, went outside of his little world to hire a coach. He didn't just hire a friend who runs the triangle? Interesting.

Just a few former Knick assistants turned head coaches; Tom Thibodeau, Steve Clifford, Mike Malone, Kenny Atkinson, Rick Carlisle, Billy Donovan, Mark Jackson, Monty Williams, Woodson, Doc, Kidd...Phil & Kurt

I forget about former Knicks player Scott Brooks, who is regarded as the front runner for Washington.

lol you're looking at it more positively than me... I see it as the last 17 years of BS

Yeah we made the playoffs in a few of those years but it was pure B.S with what happened in those series lol

Once the Knicks picked Frederic Weiss, it was all downward for me as a young obsessed knick fan

And then people say to me be patient

For real. All I hear is in this thread is be patient like we were a perennial powerhouse at some point. :smh:

It's like people think we are getting the Warriors team with Luke.

It's the same as Fisher and no more likely to succeed.

It's going to cost about half as much as Thibs with about 10% the chance to be 60% as effective as Tom's likeliest result.

Translation: It's a dumb decision.
