Yeah, I'm not mad at not getting Walton.. just that Phil's style, comments, actions, do not give fans much confidence whatsoever.

The issue isn't Rambis, necessarily, but Rambis is indicative of Phil's problems.. which we can relate to the general problems of this franchise.

In my  perfect world? Melo would have moved on, competed right now for a championship, and we do a full-rebuild. That didn't happen, so let's make the best team we can do with the talent we do have.. like haze said.

The biggest problem is not enough talent. That's where we need to hit big in FA with the right signings. It's a longshot because we don't have the most desirable team right now, but that's where we're at. The second biggest problem is Phil/Rambis/the future with all that.

It's unfortunate that a lot of players may not want to come to NY just bc of Phil. Realistically, we won 32 games this season and we don't need THAT much more to break .500. In fact, we probably could've won 5 more games with better coaching. Whether we overachieved or what, we didn't have as bad of a season as we make it appear. The problem is that our president of basketball ops has said and done all the WRONG things for us to improve from those 32 wins. Coaches wanna be here, Phil won't even interview him. Our best player has passive aggressively hinted that he doesn't want Rambis, Phil has made it known that he's gonna be here next season. Players/FAs aren't very high on the triangle, that's all Phil wants to run.

Truthfully we are no that far off. an off season of D Collison, Jamal Crawford and Batum would def have us competitive in the east.

I agree with what a lot of you said. I'm not mad we didn't get Walton; I knew he was staying in GS or going to LA.

It's that Phil reportedly only met with Rambis & Blatt. If Mills wasn't here I don't think he would've even met with Blatt. You're severley limiting yourself if you only interview 2 guys.

Blatt is worth interviewing but the fact that Thibs, JVG, Messina and Jackson are omitted is foolish, egotistical and incompetent.

What do you call someone who consistently says unnecessary bs, is not good at their job, gets paid extremely well, and has zero accountability for his actions or lack thereof ?

A philjackass

Man I'm surprised that Thibs really wanted to be there and didn't even get interviewed. And you have Messina out there wanting to coach who was my preference for HC of LA.
You guys as fans need to just start putting a lot of pressure on the Knicks to get Phil outta there.

My man said we're not that far off

We're soooooooooooooooooo far off. I'm not even saying it to be "that guy" or sound like that know it all voice of reason. But it's something I've thought of many times. We're not even close. I don't even know where to start. There's no ****** way in hell we're winning now and we're caught between a young player and an aging vet with a no trade clause who refuses to leave. Essentially meaning we have no direction and will be stuck in mediocrity. On top of it, we still have Dolan, and incompetent FO, and no coach. Our culture that Phil was paid to change is abysmal, and it starts with his nepotism. Oh and we can't even add a sidekick to that young player because of that bargnani trade I always bring up. It's really that big of a deal. Instead, an attractive piece/partner for Kristaps will be staying in our conference to a team that's already much better than us (and even then still might get bounced in the first round.) Coming here is coming to a wasteland, Melo himself is NY af and marketable and networking here. Also realizes he's probably never gunna win a ring anyways so might as well get paid and set himself and his family up for the future here in NY. Dudes like KD and Westbrook would need to be kidnapped by FlyNY and have a clockwork orange type brainwashing with NY culture done to them in order to be crazy enough to willingly come here.

We're far off as hell right now, and on top of it there are young teams for the future much better than we ever could be. Minnesota has back to back ROY possible future hall of famers along with other pieces and a good coach. We aren't doing **** unless lightning strikes in the form of luck multiple times (hopefully offing Phil, Trolan, and Calderon.)

Also, just to add to all of that...do you know how many ****** very good players good teams have? We literally have just 1 to build with.

I don't eem' care son said to be competitive in the east. That means being able to potentially beat Cleveland in a 7 game series. A team with Lebron James, Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, and role players.

Being competitive & being a contender are very different imo.

The Pistons, Hornets, Celtics, Hawks, Blazers, Mavs etc. are competitive. They're gonna win 40+ games & make the playoffs. The only real contenders are the Warriors, Spurs, Cavs, & Thunder.

We doubled our win total from last season so the goal for next season should be 40-45 wins, assuming we hire not Kurt Rambis & improve our backcourt.

you dudes are too happy to be building toward a ceiling of mediocrity. Maxing out your cap on older mediocre free agents with just one young guy to build with and mid-first round draft picks is a recipe for extending our championship drought.

When did we max out our cap?

im not doing the math but I'm assuming signing a new starting point guard and starting sg (which is what everyone means by improving our trash backcourt) would do that, or at least not leave any room for an actual star player.

All I know is we got 7 (or 6) years to put some people around Kristaps if we can't get the Melo plan rolling

So if Rambis back as HC I'm assuming the tank is back ? Phil gon trade Melo for some floor wax and extra towels.

Oh great, I'm gonna be approaching my 40s and still not see the Knicks win a damn thing....man, eff that lol....that just sounds very depressing and I just entered my 30s lol

I'm getting really impatient

I thought Phil on the sidelines would've been enough for KD to sign here.

Hopefully Lebron doesn't throw shade at Blatt and FA would actually want to play for him.
