I saw Lebron play already when he was on the heat so not really trying to watch him again... if Kyrie comes back next year then maybe ill watch the Cavs

I got some **** to say....(not coming in here like Suge Knight at the Source Awards...Promise  )

Stephen A Smith - I never hated him, I've always respected him. I always gave him the benefit of doubt when it came to NBA basketball, He knows his stuff and he has a long line of work, connections, and sources. But I don't listen to him nowadays (ever since he left the radio) and I damn sure don't watch First Take due to the gasbagging and the simple fact it's on during work hours - but we all know how First Take is (a show thats engineers itself on perpetuating controversial hot takes and trolling). I never blamed SAS for going on FirstTake, he needs to make his money. I liked him on the radio more when he represented NY - instead of this "National TV Star".... Whatever

But today I was home around the time the show aired and let it run while I was in and out the shower getting ready....so the topic was Kristaps Porinzingus & whether or not we should build around him going forward and trade Melo. Ya'll know how I feel about that topic (Melo is an asset, we should have considered trading him last year and def should consider it more going forward now that we have a great young talent, we're not winning the championship anytime soon - so whats the point of Melo) - but forget it all that...

This dude Stephen A was throwing some ridiculous shade and skepticism at KP, and that shade wasn't just regular criticism, that shade has a serious xenophobic and prejudice undertones. That doesn't sit right with me here. Most of Knick fans I knew IRL and most Knick fans in here were seriously letting their Xenophobia manifest and present itself - "Don't want KP, he's European, he's soft, next Bargani, Dirk is an exception, KP - he's this, he's that, blah, blah, blah) I mean that was disgusting then, when it happened, but I guess I understood it. After Bargani - ya'll dudes were on edge. But alot of ya'll changed your mind, gave this dude a shot and in return I commend ya'll - now we can get back to basketball and enjoy this excitement. I've never been this excited about a drafted player by the Knicks in my lifetime, I wasn't born when we drafted Ewing and every other draft pick (that we didn't trade away) has been a huge miss. Boom - lets go. Moving on...

The ish Stephen A Smith said, I'm paraphrasing here - "Hell No we shouldn't build around Porzingis,, Phil Jackson is getting a pass, KP winning Rookie of the Year doesn't mean much, Porzingis is 7'3 - he should be doing that" -

First of all Mr. Smith, Being a 7 footer shouldn't guarantee him or us fans anything. That expression "Can't teach 7 feet", it's a popular expression but I'd go with this one - "You can't teach balance, coordination, agility, and footwork to a 7 footer...either they have it or they don't". Remember Tyson Chandler's chopstick legs trying to take a few coordinated steps? Ever take a look at Dwight Howard trying to make a spin move? - it's done with the coordination of a statue - slowly, tediously, and obvious. I guess most 7 footers in the NBA are failing at doing what they're "suppose" to do Mr.Smith - maybe SAS he overlooking that fact that there are only a handful of 7 footers out there in the NBA who have the skills and the coordination to just simply do what they're "supposed to do" . (Thats why I always wanted KP before the draft. That type of size and agility are the hardest things to find in basketball. Give me that any day, Less than a handful of 7 footers who can do that. The guy is trying to subliminally persuade us that KP is just some regular 7 foot John doing the simplest of jobs. It's absurd man and crazy prejudicially suspicious - I don't think SAS would ever undermine and be so patronizing about KP- if KP was some black dude from America. KP is a 19 y/o dude bro, SAS has almost always given young guys NBA ballers the benefit of the doubt.

I don't know man, ish just doesn't seem right and objective to me. SAS has always been super critical of the Knicks tho, I've been super critical of the Knicks too. lots of the times I've agreed with him - but this kind of criticism is different. Stephen A laughed and attacked Skip when he said "he could be Dirk, but a Dirk who plays Defense" - Alright bro, maybe thats "reaching" and way to early to say- but we ALL KNOW DAMN WELL if this was 1999 and some scout told SAS that Dirk Nowitzki would become a legend - we know SAS would have gone crazy and said "Nah, AINT HAPPENING" . I'm not going to ever compare KP with Dirk, I think they're two totally different players and Dirk is one the greatest to ever play. I can't assure KP will be the shooter, the presence, and the majestic scorer Dirk was/is - But I can assure you that Dirk was never in his life as athletic as KP, even when Dirk was a young rookie. And I can also assure you that KP has more of an appetite to play Defense and crash the boards (Go Get It!) than Dirk has ever had in his career. So it's not out of the realm of possibilities that we may t have a future All-Star here Stephen, it's not "ASININE", it's not "PREPOSTEROUS", and it's not "RIDICULOUS". - All it is, is exciting for right now.

And going on tirades about how disappointing Phil has been and how much money he makes - Bro, for him or for anyone who agrees with SAS on this issue (lots still do). No player in the FA market these past two seasons was going to lead us into the promise-land, None. You want the Knicks to change the culture and philosophy, you want the Knicks to stop making the disastrous decision making that has got us one-step forward and then four-steps back - give Phil is F'nn break man. And don't put pressure on the Knicks to overpay, overtrade, and lose our Draft picks until 2030 because you want them to have an unrealistic chance of winning the championship tomorrow with Phil. We've been waiting 40+ years for a Ring, We've been waiting 20+ years to be relevant, we waited 10+ years to make the playoffs not too long ago - I can wait and trust Phil another 5 years going forward. He blew it up, he did what he had to last year and still has Melo (a great tradable asset) going forward. And Pleaseeee Don't throw fits when the words "Melo", "Trade", "Future", and "Rebuild" are in the same sentence. We have options for the first time in a long time - thats good. Phil makes 12 million a year, it doesn't affect our salary, it doesn't affect the fans, and whenever someone can bleed more money out of Dolan's pockets - it puts a smile on my face. Rent ain't cheap in NY

God Damn, I had no idea I ranted this F'nn hard, I just pulled the the gr8est the gr8est type of move on here for the first time, ever - My bad. johnnyredstorm johnnyredstorm edit and revise that, send it to your editor, and then make him send it to SAS. Boom!

Your rant was very SAS-esque. Oh, the irony

I do agree with you to a certain extent and think it's acceptable to be excited with the direction this team is going in. If I had to nitpick about one thing, it would probably be the poor coaching job Fisher has done. But something tells me we're stuck with him. He was hand-picked by Phil and no way would Phil fire Fisher. It reflects poorly on Phil.

good rant Coupe

i love what Phil did last summer. drafted KP & Grant, and signed RoLo, Afflalo, KOQ, & DWill to reasonable contracts. he put together a solid foundation to build on.

SAS is a clown, plain & simple.

I haven't talked to him yet so im gonna say no. He works in finance so I guess he's looking to get to that next level, idk.

Coupé It Coupé It with the OutKast esque rant at the 95' Source Awards :pimp:

Everything you said was real **** SAS is a 100% bigot straight *** clown buffoon. It's so sad that he's like that maybe his mother could've done a better job raising him. Every time he mentions KP I see the racial undertones just seeping through his pores. He's really mad that a "white boy" is the future of the New York Knicks and their ain't **** he could do about it.

No, I'm with you there. I'd nitpick that too, I've never been keen on Fisher either. He's Phils puppet to me, plus I think he's a shady dude. Lol

You can def be critical of Phil for that, but that wasn't the reason SAS was critical of Phil. He was critical because of how much Phil makes and how he's suppose to magically sign the best players in the world today so we can win a championship tomorrow. That's just ridiculous and unreasonable. That's not happening.

I've been getting that sense from SAS from the day we drafted KP - but that ish today man, that was just too damn obvious and his Xenophobia or prejudice or bigotry, whatever you want to call it was just swaying everything he said about KP - if you noticed it, I noticed it, then I'm sure others noticed it aswell - it's clearly above suspicion now.

Now I'm just surprised no one has got at him for it.

if KP was black he'd love him

whatever, dude is annoying. his opinion isn't swaying mine.

SAS been gassed up. Each and every passing year he buys into himself and all his connects and relationships even more.

we gotta bring Cesar in for a tryout

dude probably plays with a gram in his socks

@Coupelt88 a rep for you, sir. Well done. :wow: :pimp:

And just to set the record straight. Just to show where my loyalties lie. After driving the Zinger bandwagon on here for weeks leading up to the draft (mostly as a joke at first, to get over the heartbreak of getting ****** by the lottery and the chance at Towns/Russell combined with me being absolutely petrified of drafting Eddy Curry 2.0 aka Jahil Okafor), the day I officially and genuinely decalred myself a member of #TeamZinger.

The evening of June 24th 2015, about 24 hours before the Knicks were on the clock:

And THAT is what happens when you do your ************* homework instead of generalize. Stereotyping is the easy way out. :pimp:

Still a long way to go but needless to say I am very happy with the early results. Just todah Bill Simmons tweeted a hypothetical 3 team trade scenario that would net the Knicks Boogie, the Kings Lopez and the Nets 2016 unprotected 1st round pick (owned by the Celtics), and the Celtics Porzingis. Nothing more. Obviously that trade is ludicrous and would never happen, but that is very besides the point.

The POINT is that Bill Simmons aka "The Boston Sports Guy" has caught such Zing Fever that he would be willing to give up what very well may be the #1 pick in a LOADED draft (featuring the likes of prodigy Ben Simmons and "next KD" Skal whatever his last name is), just to get his hands on some Latvian gold. OUR Latvian gold. That right there is a big ******* deal. Again, still a LONG way to go. Remember we are the same fan base who once scoffed at KG trade proposals because they included Channing Frye and wanted Gallinari in the Melo deal instead of Landry ******* Fields. But needless to say, this is the best rookie prospect to play in this city since 33. Lets just enjoy that and hope for the best.

If BS got that trade proposal on June 25th, he would have laughed in our faces and called us delusional Knicks fans. Now, 2 weeks into Porzingis' rookie season, with the Nets ******* winless, that same dude is the one making outrageous trade proposals to get Porzingis on his team. Now THAT is some early return on our investment.

And as far as investments are concerned, I passed the 7 at the end of last week and am putting up the finishing touches on a rant To get JRS website back running for Knicks season that would put @Couplet88 rant to shame.

Was hoping to have it done by tonight before the Raps game but I dont think thats happening anymore. But I have had a lot more **** I have wanted to write about Knicks related building up so be ready for a lot more if you are into reading my long *** bull ****.

once we drafted KP i hated the pick... i felt like we need a PG for this team and Muiday was that guy... but once the season started well summer league i gave him a chance because i support all knicks just off being a fan...i didnt agree with the pick initially but just started to accept we drafted a european so no choice but to be supportive... glad he worked out for us though...same cant be said about derrick williams i hated the signing even though it was a cheap contract i didnt think he was anything special... and even though hes been pretty good in preseason i still havent been impressed with his play this season besides the first game against the bucks... i hope he does play better though
