Let me know your thoughts and experiences with Jeep Wranglers.

I am considering picking up a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited for $7500 at 164000 "highway" miles. I know the mileage is high but the price is low, I live in Toronto and really only drive about 300 miles a week mostly on the highway, so I just want a 4x4 that can handle the winter. I'll probably sell it by the time summer comes around (Hopefully for a profit...) I also will use it to transport boxes around for my business so I will probably remove the back seats.

Damn. $7500? A lot of miles but damn

It's a beauty. I love the big 4 doors. They hold their value. Never checked prices on ones with that high of mileage. What's the BB value on it

Top odometer speed is only 100 though. You gonna be shaking on the highway doing 80, pa.

At that low price, best believe it has transfer case/ differential problems. Get it up on a lift and inspected by a competent mechanic

that is cheap! a lot of miles though too

i wanted one until somebody put me up on the "Death wobble" :smh:

I'd cop. You could throw in a new engine and still have a good deal. That's a hell of a price.

I'd probably flip it though

My friend was trying to get one recently so I know all about the pricing of these cars now. That's a really cheap price for that year and mileage. We were finding like 1998's with that much mileage(if not more) for around that price.

Not sure about the differential problems or whatever someone else mentioned though so it would be best to get a PPI before jumping on it.

I wish I was the seller of that whip and you were the buyer. Jeez. Look for a better 4x4 with that. You might as well get an American truck with about 8k

Heard they are big time gas guzzlers and im not the type to care about that stuff but is this true?

Get a mechanic on that.

my guy's father just got the all black joint like up top. It's pretty fresh. I could see renting one during the summer.

I want this as my next vehicle bc I have a rear wheel Infiniti and my lady has a camero so in the winter both our cars aren't worth crap. I just can't see myself paying 25k+ for a 13 mpg truck.

But man I love these joints.

My buddy has one here in Manhattan.

Not lifted but he has 20 inch rims and huge tires. He gets like 9 mpg on a good day lol

Keep in mind my SRT gets 8 here in Manhattan.

I gained respect for them when I started working on them. Just the general simplicity and similarities of them from generation to generation. That said, you'll definitely want to drive one before you buy one. The ride may be rougher than you expect.

Checking in.If I had to do it over woulda went with the 4 door though...Straight up stock haven't done anything to it and don't like the lifted look..
