Lexus is the best car brand, period.

I somewhat agree OP. Lexus isn't sought after like BMW, Audi and Mercedes but I love Lexus' vehicles. Would definitely recommend Lexus to the pretentious type who wanna' drive luxury.

You get the reliability of a Toyota and the comfort of a luxury car at a better price than BMW, Mercedes, and Audi. Want fast? BMW M4, $65,000; 425 HP. Lexus RCF; $63,000; 467 HP. How can anybody disagree with this? Discuss.

you're talking about 2K difference in price, that's not enough of a difference to really talk about it as a point.

Also, 425 hp vs 467 hp at what RPM? Horsepower also doesn't equal speed.

Also, I'm disappointed not everyone continued on with the "K"

I had an old es300 for my first car.. Wasn't the greatest, but it was old so was kinda to be expected at the time.. Plus was my first car and was glad to have something

I've driven a c200 Mercedes for the last couple years that's getting up there.. And my mom has one one that is like 3 years old now

My girl has a Audi Q5

Audi is easily a better car than Mercedes.. I've driven a couple BMWs a handful of times and easily prefer them over Mercedes too

My Lexus was already 7 years old when I got it back in high school.. So cant speak on them now

Mercedes SCoupe or S anything > BMW/Audi's whole fleet

Man I am wishing I had gotten a used ES300h now instead of my new Kia Optima EX Hybrid. Every time I see an ES series, I die a bit inside, especially black or red. Pure sexyness

ES is the only Lex I cant co-sign with. Id rather have the new Camry (serious).

The old gen ES sedans are ugly as hell. This new gen though is something else. I always see this pearl white one with matte black wheels :pimp:

Lexus' are just overpriced Toyota, which lately, hasn't had the best reliability.

IMO, Lexus definitely provide good luxury but totally lacks in performance.

///M series > F series

I now want an ES after I had it as a rental car months back. Man was that ride smooth :pimp:

Lexus has the smoothest engines out there, I just haven't experienced that consistently on one brand more than Lexus. Comfort isn't always about the ride quality but also in the engine in how it sounds, how the transmission shifts and now smooth that engine is and Lexus simply does it right.

I mean it really isn't a fair comparison but you at least got to give them credit for trying now and for a start with the IS-F and RC-F, not to mention the LFA, they are doing pretty well. Even the GS350 F-Sport has gotten plenty of praise and even beat out the 5-series in other comparos. I'm curious to see how the new GS-F does against the M5 though.

Performance-wise though, I like this review of the RC-F via AutoBlog, it just makes sense and looking at it that way, Lexus may have made the right decisions.

Every year, thousands of people buy two-door coupes that bear the badges of BMW M, Mercedes-AMG, Audi RS, and Cadillac V. These cars are powerful, fast, agile, and - if you believe the marketing - are made to kick *** on the track.

But, and this is just my theory, only about 0.2 percent of these owners actually drive their cars the way the companies intended. Most buyers, I think, want the image put forth by an M4 or C63 AMG more than any dynamic abilities. These people just want to give the impression that they're out tearing up the local road course, and a $70,000 sports coupe and a pair of Pilotis are just the ticket. Which is not to say they don't use the performance of these cars, just not the full track-day capabilities. If this describes you, I recommend checking out the new Lexus RC F.

The Lexus RC F isn't the dynamic equal of its competitors. Instead, it delivers a good blend of everyday livability, and it does so for a more reasonable price. While it isn't likely to appeal to people buying cars for track days, it's a good deal for folks who just want to look the part.
