Lexus is the best car brand, period.

i have a 2011 lexus is350 f sport.

love the car.

however, the best brand in the world is mercedes-benz. they invented the car and hold over 100,000 patents. they invented the airbags, seatbelts, crumple zones, diesel passenger vehicles, electric vehicles, motorcycles, stability control, supercharged engines, etc.

easily the most influential automobile brand to ever exist, and it isnt even close

According to that maybe the correct term is msot innovative but id take a Bimmer or Audi over MB anyday.

All of these new gen 350's are really starting to grow on me, beginning to love how they look on the road. But something about the old gen has me stuck. The gauges on the old gen are :smokin

I love black cars, but those swirl marks on the paint keep me away. Always been a silver car guy.

Vossens are trash quality wise. Would rather get ADV, HRE, rotiform, volk etc

ehhh wut? I know air bags and seat belts aren't true.

With the NSX coming soon, Lexus needs to drop something to compete. Yes, I know about the LFA but that was 4 years ago.

That's not where the money is. They need to outdo the current S-Class with the next LS.The S-Class is in a league of its own right now :smokin

I love the new LS F Sport in white. It's very nice.

But the SClass is something else. I'd take that over the LS but I'd take the LS over the A8 and 750.

Toyota needs to answer the NSX

Lexus needs to answer Mercedes and BMW

Lexus needs to get a convertible, and an answer for the S class

They can't even really beat the S Class. They just need a good alternative.

Outside of premium gas, how does lexus maintance cost compare to toyota and compare to its german competitors?

LS is a good alternative considering it starts considerably less than the S. IIRC the ride is softer on the LS too?

Toyota has been working with a Supra for a while now, it's going to come... eventually.

Lexus already has an answer to BMW and Benz, the GS350 FSport beat the E and 5 in plenty of comparos. GS-F is coming (though vastly underpowered, a mistake on Lexus' part) The IS is still selling well and we'd probably see an IS-F soon? RC350 is a good alternative to those who wants to pretend they track their cars every weekend (not a knock on anyone so don't attack me) plus it undercuts it's competitors in terms of price. NX is probably taking plenty of sales away from the X1, Q3 and GLA too.

An LFA successor is in the works and expected to have 800 HP.

The LF-LC has been testing around California so it might be heading to production soon. I believe it's also going to come as a convertible or it might be a new model, I believe it was a LF-C2 concept which can pass as an RC convertible.

So I think Lexus/Toyota is well on it's way, they just can't rush it but they are slowly but surely getting there.

I lease both a 2015 GS F Sport and a 2015 RC F Sport and I'm counting down the days until the RC's lease is up and I can go back to BMW. Driving experience alone, you can't compare the two. I only hopped into two Lexus because at the time when I leased the GS F Sport, the dealer threw a deal I couldn't refuse at me on the RC to get me into a Lexus from my BMW. I'm probably going to early terminate lease on the RC in a year and a half and jump into an M2/M4. Lexus is a nice ride, but for what you get, it always seems like they're just playing catch-up to the German competitors. Ride is comfortable, but there is no fun in driving either car. Very boring daily drivers. I never had that feeling in my E92 335i. The GS is for my girl and she doesn't go crazy with performance needs, so it's the perfect car for her.

If Lexus is trying to be serious about being a performance brand with the F and the F sport branding, they need to get more torque into these cars. Putting them into Sport+ mode so the transmission doesn't shift around and lets you sit at higher RPM's than normal isn't my idea of performance. These cars need more balls, simply put. I considered an RC-F but an extra $18k for that old V8 from the IS-F was not appealing at all.

If you're into performance, look elsewhere. If you're into a reliable, comfortable car hiding in super aggressive styling, then Lexus is the one stop pop shop for you.
