"Starts just under" are the key words that stood out to me.... Like MB said the CLA would start just under 30k.

But like I said, if it looks as good in person as it did in that video, at 100k it will still probably sell well

Technically it will still be under $100k even if price at $99,999. They only mentioned like two options available, somewhat similar to the new GSF so i would assume the car would practically be fully loaded at that starting price.

Haha. What you're not understanding is when brand new, attractive, appealing car models comes out, getting it at starting is like winning the lottery. It may happen, but not likely. Just think about when the RC-F first came out. They "started just at 62k". However, in my area (DFW) none were attainable for the first 6 months or so for less than around 67k and that of course wasn't with the carbon fiber package or any other upgrades. Just the base model lol

Eh, its all about location, location, location... and how you negotiate.

I could have gotten an RC350/RCF below MSRP first month of release here in California with little to no haggling.

This isn't some cars that are produced in limited numbers, no offense to anyone but you've got to be out of your mind to pay more than MSRP on these cars.

Well maybe outside of the LFA but then again people who buys them has F U money so they just say F it!

I saw a video of the LFA and LC500 side by side. And damn I actually think the LC500 looks better!

LFA is a beauty but it will definitely look dated next to the LC which looks like a concept car.

Starting price car manufacturers use for expensive cars is never the same as sticker price at a dealership. That is want I'm trying to get across. If I go to a dealership to check out some RC-F's and look at the sticker attached to the car, it will not say 62k on it. Straight from Lexus website:

Starting prices are what gets you to drive to the dealership. Of course you can negotiate and obtain it for cheaper than the starting price, but generally not when it's demand is high due to its new release. You're more likely to get it cheaper than sticker price though if you negotiate well.

But as you said, location plays a substantial factor on the price you can get through negotiation.

The cheapest one on my dealerships website :smh:

Hopefully I'm not coming off as a smartass, that's definitely not my intent. Just stating what I've notice when newer, expensive cars hit the dealership. Repped for providing those dope pics :smokin

wish all the BMW ******** could see this comment
I still follow BMW pretty closely and read on the forums weekly, but their vehicle lineup just seems almost "cookie cutter" now. I do not believe you are getting what you pay for with their cars, as most the fit and finishes just seem and feel cheap to me.

Lexus on the other hand won me over because they had exactly what I wanted and at the right price. Their F Sport line up is tapping into a market that nobody else was before. I drove a 328i Sport, but of course I wanted the M Sport - but the price was ridiculous. The loaded 328i M Sport can get near M3 pricing easily.

Don't get me wrong, they are great driving cars and I love the M-Sport and M models, but the Lexus offers more luxury, reliability, and more standard features. My IS F Sport handles better than my 13 328i did. Of course it's not as quick, but it was something I was willing to give up. Even the Lexus dealerships are more accommodating and friendly.

I'd do it if my car wasn't a lease.

$400 actually isn't that bad considering the digital fit floor liners already cost ~$200 for the front and back plus an extra $80-$100 for the trunk.

Motor Trend had the opportunity to test a prototype of the new LC 500 in the Laguna Seca and Willow Springs tracks, revealing that the new Lexus is indeed engineered to be a proper sports car.

Koji Sato, chief engineer of the new LC 500 also revealed that Lexus benchmarked the BMW 6-Series during the development but they also wanted to add the emotional experience of a Maserati into the mix, creating their own unique blend of a sports car.

Based on a new platform which is even stiffer than the carbon one of the LFA supercar, the new Lexus LC 500 uses a 5.0-litre V8 producing 467hp which is mated to a brand new 10-speed automatic from Aisin, making it capable for a 0-60mph in less than 4.5 seconds.

True, $400 isn't bad for mats that will fit my car perfectly.

The weathertech I had in my previous car cost over $200 and though it worked in protecting my car interior, the quality and appearance looked cheap. Autopreme quality and appearance will much better reflects that of Lexus

I see one (LFA) on the road maybe once a month, thing is sick in motion, 100x more beautiful on the road.

As was discussed, those are marked up prices, RCFs starts at $63k.

I know it was posted up there that they only get you to the dealerships with the website price but when I get to the dealership I better see this sticker price or else I am walking.

The markups Lexus adds at my local Lexus dealerships for all F models ain't no joke. I once saw a RC-F that was wrapped, had the carbon fiber package, different wheels, and one or two additional add-ons. The price topped 105k :frown:. I don't believe there was any power gains over a base either. I'm hoping no one was stupid enough to buy it anywhere near that price. It looked dope though, kinda like this:

If it's still there next time I get my car serviced, I'll take a pic

Here's MSRPs for the 2016 line-ups:

You still dont think that "sticker price" is overpriced in comparison with some of the competition? Car is a beauty and you probably rarely see it but...

The only thing I don't like about the RC-F pricing is in order to get the carbon package, you have to add on the premium package. Goes from 62k to 79k that fast. Debating between that and the M4 in a couple years.

I checked out the new GSF at my local lexus dealer the other day, it is very nice, but yeah I think it is over priced as well.

Thats what I'm saying, they are overpriced even at MSRP. 85K for the GS F base

GSF for sure but we are talking about the RCF here. It doesn't perform as well as an M4 but specs are similar.

GSF is more of an exception than the norm.
