++Houston Texans Thread Offseason 2016++ Pre-Season @ Dallas

Yea I think we're sitting at #6  :x heard on the radio this morning with them talking about even though the Titans are 1-6, they've actually been competitive other than one game, which is true. But still, if we lose to them, with possibly Mettenberger, at home....that's surely a #1 pick. And that's sad.

From chron.com:

The Texans will be shorthanded at inside linebacker as coach Bill O’Brien has ruled out rookie Benardrick McKinney and veteran Akeem Dent for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.

McKinney will miss his second consecutive game with a concussion, and Dent is out with a hamstring injury.

That means Justin Tuggle would start opposite middle linebacker Brian Cushing.

Meanwhile, the Texans have also ruled out wide receiver Cecil Shorts with a hamstring injury and cornerback Kareem Jackson with a sprained right ankle.

Offensive guard Brandon Brooks was characterized as a game-time decision with a toe injury by O’Brien.

O’Brien reiterated that defensive end J.J. Watt, who didn’t practice Wednesday and Thursday, is expected to play despite a minor back injury.

We just need to throw the ball to deandre a billion times so he develops and tank for that top pick. DAMN I wish Fournette was eligible this year

Same here, this would've been great, especially with Foster all but being done as a Texan

I'm sure people have heard Mettenberger is getting the start on Sunday. You would think that would mean teh Texans picking up a bunch of sacks on a slow sluggish QB. but these are the Texans.

Well we already beat the Jags  but I think we'll beat the Titans, but who knows, we lost Foster and....I mean, we SHOULD still beat them

Clowney stays hurt smh

As much as i dont want texans to lose, i font want them to win

And with Washington dropping passes, what's the harm in playing Strong or at least in some packages.

Comes in, has one huge game, straight back to the bench for us to watch Shorts/Washington drop passes.

I feel like I've said this a 1000 times now:

As bad as the Texans are, it's incredible how bad some other teams are

Well look at that, the Texans defense pretty much overwhelming the Titans outside of like 3 plays  That defense today was what I was expecting from the start of the season.

You know your team stinks if Mercilus is shining.

But heyyy we can be in 1st place by Monday night.

The AFC south is 4-15 outside the division

Texans safety Moore: Being benched was 'mortifying'

Houston free safety Rahim Moore, whose struggles against the Miami two weeks ago led to his being inactive for Sunday's win over Tennessee, told reporters Monday he was surprised by the decision to bench him.

“It was mortifying, crying, all kinds of stuff, but that’s because I love football a lot,” Moore said, per the Houston Chronicle. “You want to be out there. The good feeling about it is we won.”

Moore, who signed a three-year, $12-million contract with the Texans last March, started the first seven games before sitting in favor of Andre Hal against the Titans.

As the Texans head into the bye week, Moore said he plans to keep a positive attitude about the situation.

"One thing about football is nobody’s perfect. We all come up short," Moore said. "You don’t want to always create bad problems in your head. You want to keep positive things in your head. I know I can play this game. The film doesn’t lie. Keep working, never let it get you down. Some guys in that situation they fade and you never hear from them again.”

I didn't even realize this til I came across this article that he was benched. I know it was the Titans, and the front 7 played nasty, but the secondary overall played better without him in the lineup, which sucks cause he was supposed to be an upgrade.
