If Im not busy, im lazy and these keep me from making certain threads. Also I'm hesitant to compile info and not have anyone interested only for it to fade into the recesses of NT ( only for a lamer rip off thread to pop up with a milly responses soon after lol )

C.E.R.N. - A thread discussing their work, potential, speculations and related scientific concepts. They seem intriguing and terrifying at the same time.

Minimalism thread- I know someone made one the other day, but dude was talking bout changing phones . This would be more a discussion of getting rid of excess, shedding the attitude of compulsive acquisition and embracing true self happiness. Think Mennonite living ( Amish with electricity).

I would want a debate thread. Like every week or so pose a topic to debate and let the arguments commence. Two rules though: 1 Can't get emotional no matter the subject. If you think you would, don't enter that particular debate. 2. It cant be just a one sentence stance. Arguments should be well thought out. Preferably a few paragraphs long. Doesn't have to necessarily be values debate like LD or Policy debate.

Had a person very close to me relapse into opiate addiction. She's making an effort to be 100% clean now with some help, and I'm going to do the same.

I just smoke bud and eat mushrooms every 2-3 weeks. I have no addiction to mushrooms and I'm pretty positive its impossible but weed has a stronger hold on me than I'd like it to have. I cut back big but I started abusing it again and I'm fixing the problem.

Wanted to make a thread where anyone fighting any type of addiction, physical or mental, drugs, alcohol, games, internet, anything - could come to talk, we could all provide helpful info, coping mechanisms, however we could all help each other.

A big factor in beating addiction is having a strong support system. We could be that for each other.
