At the end of the day, it would have been crazy if they would have collaborated in some form.

Prince is indeed one of the GOATs.

Depending on the day i might have him as my favorite of all time, between him and Stevie. They are more like 1a and 1b. Followed by Mike Jack & Marvin Gaye.

Now a track w/ all them, would have been thee best **** ever.
 
As a fan of both, I will never be pressed to choose one over the other. But, a thread appreciating both legends is always much appreciated.

Fact check time: MJ named his son after his grandfather. Not Prince, the musician. Both artists always strived for commercial success/artistic recognition. Prince is a much more proficient musician, but MJ has composed his share of compositions from start to finish, including classical pieces and even video game music. As self-contained as Prince is, he does owe a lot to some of his musician friends from Minneapolis for providing inspiration for alot of his early cuts from jam sessions and unreleased tracks. (See Andre Cymone, Morris Day, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Jesse Johnson, Matt Fink, etc)
 
Local Minnesota station The Current is playing Prince literally all day and night (until 10am CST to celebrate the first snowfall of the year).

Update 12/2: We just can’t stop playing Prince! Due to the outpouring of enthusiastic response from around the world — including from Paisley Park itself, and from Los Angeles, where Prince himself has been tuning in — we’ve decided to immediately repeat our Prince marathon. The A-Z stream of Prince songs will wrap up in the noon hour today (Dec. 2), and at 12:45 p.m. the stream will start again at the letter A — then continue on for another 24+ hours until we hit Z again tomorrow (Dec. 3) at 3:20 p.m. Thanks for rocking out with us!

I can't believe this. This has to be a hoax or a joke. How did this happen? No, lawd' no. This can't be real life! :x :smh: :frown:
