NFL Week 1 In Review...

Packers won but I'm really tired of Dom Capers soft *** defense.

I didn't see anyone out there hitting besides Clay and Peppers, as usual.  Almost every other game I turn to there are dudes laying the wood
This. So many times they would force a 3rd and 5+ to go and let the bear convert. They still don't step up and make the play. Let's hope that fixes itself but with capers I'm not holding my breath.

Texans
- Abomination of an offense. Hoyer stinks, but the o-line didn't help him. But most Hoyer stinks.
- Defense tried to hold on as much as they could, but the offense put them in crappy positions.

Seahawks
- Dion Bailey -_____-
- Really Pete?
- Nice to know Jimmy Graham still exists

The League
- Props to Romo for leading that win
- Excellent choke job Giants
- Raiders still stink
- Generational QBs can't beat Tyrod Taylor
- Ravens

Ugly game for the Ravens yesterday. Had it penciled in for a loss and the toughest game of the year.

That said, holding the Broncos to 4 FGs should mean a win. More upset with Smitty not catching the TD than Joe throwing the 2nd INT. First was just a bad decision.

Good to see Tyrod get a chance and shine

LaDarius Green :pimp:
2nd Half Rivers :pimp:
MM8 :pimp:
Raiders  Aldon signing was gonna put you guys into Playoff contention huh?

Alex Smith throwing passes 20+ yards down the field consistently and tearing apart Houston :wow:

Manziel still has a lot of work to do. But he showed a lot of poise out there yesterday. His team is still trash, but at least he showed some flashes.

skins
Eli
Top 3 WR in the NFL James Jones :pimp:
Cutler

Bills defense :x :wow:
Bills new offense :x :wow:
Rex has himself a SQUAD.

Excited to see Teddy tonight :pimp:

Great week 1.

Subtle backhand to the packers.
We know you have a checklist of thing you look for in the box scores and then post on them.
Like if the Seahawks win next week, it will be something like shaky pocket presence or something like that.

Chiefs -

+ Very pleased with the first half...then I'm going to be optimistic and think that Reid didn't want to show too much for Denver on a short week.

+ Kelce is a stud. Plain and simple.

+ 9ers fans...when are you going to admit that you want Alex Smith back? Let me know.

+ Marcus Peters with an INT on his first ever play.

Other -

+ Wow. Romo. When are people going to stop hating? It's ridiculous. No Murray, no Dez, drives the team down the field and makes it look EASY.

+ Manziel

+ Winston

+ I said all along that the Seahawks were idiots for trading away Unger. Graham is great but, man, their O-line is awful.

+ Buffalo

YO! AFC East might be fun this year...except I don't see Tyrod Taylor holding up like this.

Well you guys did get that onside kick yesterday so that's a plus...

Pathetic *** Giants. Had the game right there and couldn't close it. That's been the story for the last years. I'm too pissed to even care about the rest of the league.

Giants

- So confused, no idea what the hell happened on that final Giants drive. How does the coaching staff and players not know the time and how many TOs are left? Whomever called that play needs to be fired. Don't care if it's Coughlin, Macadoo or even Jerry ****** Reese.
- You run on third down. You get in and make it a 10 point game. You don't get in and you run the clock down to 58 seconds or some ****. Jennings just had three carries of 10 or more yards on that series.
- I don't blame Eli, the passing play should have never even happened. He should have known to take a sack but the coaching staff should have told them when they called in the play.
- Been saying since last year Preston Parker should be cut. Please cut Larry Donnell, Dwayne Harris and Andre Williams as well.
- Our defense is trash. Been saying it all offseason. Osi's old *** would improve this team. DRC and Prince are good, everyone else is worthless. Caught a few lucky breaks and put us in the position to win. Couldn't trust them to close.

- Stunned how bad Indy looked yesterday. I knew Buffalo's defense would be good but damn. Hope this team goes far this year.
- How is Manziel still in the league? Guy was BRUTAL yesterday. Think he had four or five fumbles yesterday, some were negated because of penalties.
- Jets look good, still have some issues. Sucks to see Cro get hurt like that. Done for the year.
- Love this STL team. Foles sucks but he's much better than anything they've had in the last few years.
- Tannehill looked bad. Miami didn't look good at all. Cousins looked good, except for one pick. Not gonna put that crazy pick on Kirk. Great pick though.
- Bal looked like ****. Den's O line is awful. Den won't do **** unless they get that O line right.
- TB looked awful. The entire team, defense looked like ****. O line wasn't an NFL O line.
- Hoyer lost his job that fast

I got Phila and Min winning tonight.

the highlight of my day was the new found Seahawks fans yelling "that's the f-ing Nick Foles we know" after the strip fumble touchdown and then he torched them :pimp:

LOL.

- There were Giants fans posting in the NFL thread last night that I forgot even had accounts on here.  We probably won't be seeing majority of those guys for the rest of this season.  December came early in New York.

- Romo deserves props for that drive, but keep it 100, Cowboys were extremely lucky to get that W.  They looked "off" against an obviously inferior opponent.  The line was dominate against a pretty weak front 7.

- Not ready to pack it in on Seattle yet.  Yea, the O-line looks bad, but it's the first game of the season, and for the last few years, they've looked like a completely different team on the road for some reason.  They'll get it together.

- Very impressed from what I seen from Buffalo on both sides of the ball yesterday.  Shady wasn't that great, though.

- Caught the end of AZ/NO, yesterday.  Cardinals look poised for another year of great defense backed by mediocre offense.

- Alex Smith is finally throwing the ball downfield.  Now let's work on throwing the ball to someone other than his running backs and tight-ends.

- Curious to see how the Pats D holds up, this season.  If they plan on trotting Bradley Fletcher out there every week, it'll be a long year for that secondary.  Pitt looked really off, but was able to hang in there for a while, despite missing key starters.  They'll be better as the season progresses.

Eagles win by 17, tonight.

View from my season seats.

:pimp: game all around. Offense was clicking on all counts, D forcing 5 turnovers.. expected to do that against a **** Browns team though, so it's not too much to bask in.

Ivory and Marshall :smokin

Relieved to have read that Mauldin's results came back clean, just a concussion and he has feelings in his extremities. I've never seen a player stand up and collapse like he did. Was really scary live. Kid deserves to play football after making the team coming from such a unfortunate upbringing growing up.

Cro though, didn't catch his injury, I must have been out of my seat. Didn't look good from what I heard. However, call me crazy, but Marcus Williams > Cro at this point in time. If Cro happens to miss the rest of the season, it isn't a total loss.

Onto Indy we go. If the offense can gel like they did today, I smell an upset.

That Cardinals run defense is going to be stiff again. Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson were immobile.

That is true. By rule, the clock stops on a penalty in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter whether the penalty is declined or accepted. Manning didn't know this, and so he assumed Dallas had called timeout and that the clock would keep running after Jennings' second-down run.

I'm having trouble understanding the point of this rule. How is it fair that the clock stops when the defense commits a penalty and the offense declines? It was like they were getting free timeouts. There were two plays where I was expecting the clock to run and it didn't because of penalties.

-Regardless, that was a ridiculous letdown by the Giants. Piss poor playcall from Coughlin. Most likely gotta put him out to pasture at the end of the year.

-Clutch drive from Romo. Went out there and did what he had to do.

-Dez going down is going to hurt

-Please Lord Jesus someone get Cam some damn help. It's ridiculous smh

-Preston Parker should be released. Trash smh

-Aaron Rodgers is still the don.

-St. Louis, Buffalo and Arizona all on the rise

the Lions, I don't know how they managed to blow that game like that but Big Phil out there earning that new contract, can't say the same for Ryan Tannehill

legit question for giants and cowboys fans, since I assume you guys know your own teams better than most and would have watched preseason games and all that..

who is primarily responsible for (or to blame) for the cowboys averaging 3.5 yards on the ground.. giants defense, cowboys RBs or the cowboys oline in run blocking?

I just assumed the giants run defense wasn't that good (they were pretty bad stopping the run last year)
