Jordan Brand's quality control is a joke...

So I gave Jordan Brand one more chance after securing another pair in the online raffle. I cracked open the nicely packed box today with hopes the poorly made pair I obtained from DTLR was a fluke. Instead, what I saw leaves me feeling like Nike is intentionally trolling me. The left shoe's toe cap only has one flat spot where it should be round, and a lightly pre-creased toe box. The right shoe is a complete failure. The toe box is over a half inch shorter, lightly pre-creased as well.

So on that note...

this post is stupid. please lock and post in the Bordeaux thread.

Is it me or the toe box on the right pair wider than the left. It's like JB is using two different molds. Just took another glance.

If you're buying Jordan's you should know you aren't getting anything of quality

It's been a known fact for about 12 or so years

Jordan Brand approved PR material that implied things were changing for the better...

"THE PROCESS

Every pair produced under the Retro Remaster regime will pass through over 100 sets of hands before it gets boxed up and unleashed to eager sneaker consumers at retail. As the shoes go from one step of the intricate process to the next, each person that handles them wears white cotton gloves to keep the product as pristine as possible. Whether it’s cutting materials, lining up edges, or molding the shape, everything has to be absolutely perfect before it can get the green light to move on to the next stage of production."

Im seriously wondering if people can sue for false advertising. Im just going to assume the mass majority of people who buy jordans are not lawyers and did not major in political science. Im about to look up false advertising laws now.

This was deception at its finest, and Nike's winning because a majority of their customers will take whatever they can get. These shoes are proof that Nike's quality control department are the consumers. Most won't bother returning them because they know it's their only chance of obtaining a highly sought model. Nike wouldn't bother sending shoes to an outlet if people will pay retail for shoes that should've been B-graded.

LOL!!!

What damages can you claim for a pair of shoes??  You'd have to hire a lawyer and for your $180 back?  Just resell the shoes and buy some New Balance if you want quality.

BTW I thought my Bordeauxs are excellent quality.  The Oreo 4's I bought are good but have a ridge or lump in the insole.

how old are you? im just wondering because ever since nike and JB have been around their pairs were never perfect (as the price indicates) even OG 1s have glue issues as do every pair of shoes that has come out since the 80s and earlier but the truly only difference is the amount of collectors/resellers out here who wear there shoes so very few and far between that they last forever whereas before people wore their shoes into the ground and could care less if something wasnt perfect because we had the shoes that jordan wore but its not about that anymore... clearly

I'm 34. The production flaws I'm highlighting are much worse than glue stains, and inexcusable for products that supposedly passed quality inspection. I have three pairs of 2011 Bordeaux VII's, and none of them have production defects. Keep in mind, those were released four years before the "Remastered" initiative and $40 price hike.

yeah at this point you are taking a shot in the dark at any kind of quality control and the price hike is unwarranted...or is it? the demand for their product is so high and 99% of people arent returning them so why should they charge less or have better QC? sad but true now days so if you want decent pairs then you will need to go in and inspect them before buying because ordering online is taking a risk

Because of this...

which is what we want for sure but saying and doing are 2 different things, they lied about this and seemed suspect from the get go since they arent made in nike/jordan factories they are made in china factories that are independent of the companies they provide products for. We saw it coming and the quality is minimally better and the QC is not any better. If you want it to stop you have to stop buying and hurt them in their pockets and it starts with 1

Problem being, someone else will still buy them, and just like you mentioned, they're likely choose not to send them back because they'll take whatever they can get. Me choosing to not buy them solves nothing other than saving myself the headache of standing up for what's right. Nike must take responsibility for deceiving its customers through false advertisement.

Dude, you created almost exactly the same thread a month ago and it got locked. If you don't like the quality move one. You sound like an estranged girlfriend.

I sound like someone who's sick of getting shafted by a company I've wasted a lot of money on. This comes about after obtaining another pair from Nike's online raffle. So it's not like I'm bringing up something irrelevant. Just goes to show that you can buy two pairs from completely different stocks, and still get shafted because Jordan Brand's quality control hasn't gotten any better at all.

PS, my girlfriend got me these for my birthday, and she wasn't very happy either after seeing them (the 2011's are her favorite of all my collection, and Bordeauxs are what happened to be my first pair ever when I was a kid). So the fact I can't even get a decent pair of the 2015 release when they were slated to be part of a program that would ensure minimal production flaws is frustrating to say the least. Thank God I still have two deadstock pairs of 2011's, and my worn pair that put these things to shame.

So you created a thread last month about how you weren't satisfied with Jordan Brand's quality after buying a pair of shoes so a month later you went out and bought the exact same pair of shoes and still aren't satisfied with the qualify?

That's on you man.

You're missing the point. I wanted these shoes more than any shoe in my entire collection. So when given one more chance to buy them from Nike, where I can get a full refund with shipping covered, I chose to gamble. Nike failed in the worst way possible, and it's completely uncalled for, especially when their promises of better craftsmanship are taken into consideration.

bingo. sorta like how every consumer talks themselves into accepting these ******** prices because they will have to pay more later from a reseller. it's all ridiculous logic for a ridiculous hobby to be totally honest. nike makes it so easy to walk away and yet no one can
