i hate when people complain about what gets paid with they taxes. u.s. gov spends money on all kinds of bs all the time. like people have a say in what gets paid with their paid  taxes or something.

 i do think that minimum wage need to be raised to 15.

It's still pointless to advocate someone taking more of your taxes as a solution instead of making these companies pay people correctly though

Nobody forced her to have a child. Also, she can't find a fast food job that offers full time? At a certain point, you stop feeling sorry for people who put themselves into these situations.

If its just tou and a kid you cant work full time. But faulty and condemning someone becuase life happend and they had a kid by a possible dead beat is wack. What the farher died or was iver seas. It the same narrative.

Corporation are working the system harder than the poor. For example the WOTC TAX BREAK if a company hires low income people they get a tax credit. Key word is hire they get the credit if they work 5 hea or 100. What do you think big corp is going to do.

Like i said before if poor get off assistance theyll take the money from check to pay for medical and thenthe poor would then have to pay for medical care


Child care in any city ranges from 200 to 3000. And thats for the middle class. I pay 600. Factor in communiting cost like bus passes or gas that atleast 200 a month.

With the poor getting less tax breaks than the rich how would you expect someone to get out of this especially when this cycle repeats everymonth. That takes a toll on you emotionally which could turn physical.

And poor people pray to god they dont get sick or one of their kids get sick
Then thats a double hit on funds.


Why take a bus ...get a car you say. Welp then thats insurance and maintences cost.


But yeah poor people have no excuse to be in their situations right?

Basically, it's crazy how many are making up excuses for her, lol @ "she fell in love" :rofl: there is too many people living like her in this country, bottom line she IS spoiled....I don't wanna hear this "there are no jobs nonsense" lamest excuse ever....I haven't been unemployed since I was 16 years old....around this time of year retailers are hiring anyone...she can land a seasonal job....make an impression and stay...she has the time to do so...."that will take time away from her kid" OH WELL....you can't have your cake and eat it too and due to her poor choices, she has no option than to make plenty of sacrifices...she has no business having an 100$ monthly phone bill, not now....she's willing to sacrifice her kids nutrition, but NOT her data plan?...FOH.

Dudes in here talking about work somewhere that's hiring full-time :lol: What year are yall living in? Where are the full-time jobs for people like her w/o a degree or 10+ years of experience? After 2008 and ACA(Obamacare), companies no longer higher full-time. Wal-Mart, one of the nations largest employers don't hire full-time, why? because then they have to offer healthcare; it's cheaper for them to higher part-time and teach their employees how to apply for government assistance.

These corporations are gaming the system more than poor people w/ government subsidies. She messed up and has to suffer, Wall Street messes up and gets a bailout.

Life aint black and white, so many different tangibles that come into play.

agreed. there just arent enough jobs for everybody and alot of people who do have jobs are underemployed. ... dont care if "youve been employed since high school" good for you. you're fortunate. 
 
I know people that have degrees that have been unemployed for 8 years etc. so I don't know why people can't understand its not that easy for everyone

yes.

what i dont get is people who cant understand basic math , there is not enough jobs.... 250 mil able bodied workers , 120 ish mil people have jobs. common sense would tell you  that its not possible for everyone to have a job.

It's ugly out here but not that ugly for grads, assuming you majored something marketable and in-demand.

Majoring in underwater basket weaving won't get your ends up.

Already started my career and still have a year at the least.

Gotta give yourself prep time.

its a lot easier to blame the individual then it is the system. because no one really wants to talk about why some people succeed and others dont. america rewards those who make the right moves, not those who "pull themselves up by their bootstraps".
 
8 years though? C'mon dude, even if they couldn't find one in their chosen discipline, that's enough time to literally learn another one or just take a decent to crap job like even UPS and work your way up and you'd be making good money by now. Could've joined the Army as an officer, taken the short 5 yr (IIRC) commitment, reevaluated your options and extended or gotten out and would be guaranteed job placement in any Government job because of preference points.

One of the guys I'm talking about was a Mechanical Engineering Grad so definitely not basket weaving.  Graduated with a 3.5 GPA.  Most of the others were psych or poll sci majors

Dude, they're paying mechanical engineers 6 figures down here right out of school. Did they not consider relocation?
 
no one deserves a job and it shouldnt be on companies to go out of their way to find reasons to hire people

if you're unemployed YOU have to figure out where you can create enough value for someone to want to give you their money

Nah that makes absolutely no sense...the way it is now being unemployed your whole life is the norm...

Seriously...lets just say people can't find the jobs they WANT....I don't see immigrants crossing the border and having trouble being employed and legit making a living day to day....nah but Americans are not spoiled.
 
Got to find a way to get job experience as well as meet education requirements. Our generation has to hybridize this process. Maybe work before going to college or get a trade or something. And maybe not expect to graduate in four years. A lot of unnecessary pressure.
