So I'm marrying my girl in August of 2018
We are going to have it at disneyland
At one of the hotels
Plan to have the ceremony and reception there
And have a few Disney characters walking around during the reception
A Dj
Good food things like that
Only plan to have around 80 something folks
The price for just that amount of folks is around 15 grand
So I'm planning things early tryna get situated
Anyone have any cool ideas for the weeding
Or can share there own experiences of their wedding day
Please I welcome any ideas and stories
Stories about their wedding day would most definitely be appreciated

Curious. Why Disney ?
She loves disneyland
I enjoy going
We have annual passes
Plus I proposed last month to her at disneyland in front of the castle
Just think it would be a dope experience for both of us as well as our guests

Are you sure you don't just want to do it quickly at a 24/7 vegas chapel? It's cheap, which I know you really love.

as well as our guests

I think that's a great idea. Just remember that this is your wedding. Don't worry about the guest too much. This is YOUR day.

Also since you're doing it there you may as well book the honeymoon in Key West. It's beautiful.
I was thinking something different for our honeymoon
Was thinking about japan
Or maybe France or Italy
But seems like you've been to key west
Any pics :nerd:
Mind telling me how the trip went

I proposed to my girl in front of the castle also, but on the day Disneyland turned 60 years old. Something to tell the grandkids. No wedding date yet, Mercury is in retrograde.

Spending a ton of money on a wedding always seemed dumb to me. Spending tens of thousands of dollars on what really is a romanticized party when if you are really planning to be with this person forever you should take that money and do something practical with it like put down on a house.

Go get married in the courthouse and take that 30k and do something else man

Main advice: Do not let family/parent demans get out of hand. Nip it in the bud. Let them know from the jump that its your wedding if they try to meddle more than is appropriate.

Congrats! When i got married i also proposed at disneyland my wifes favorite place. I did it by snow whites waterfall though. It's never to early to plan. Are you doing all this yourself? You getting a wedding coordinator? Main thing that got me through was I got organized using spreadsheets you won't believe how much stuff is involved to plan a wedding. I used it for costs, people involved (groomsmen, bridesmaids), contacts for vendors etc. List of guest with address and info. Pretty much a log of everything and anything. so it was my go to thing all in one. It was a big help for me to document everything, and keep progress. And of course have a budget in mind , shop around for deals. and save some extra cash for those last minutes expenses. I would say get a wedding planner or a trustworthy friend/family member to make sure everything runs smooth on your day. That's the day you just enjoy it.

Of course you can do both my point is that you shouldn't do the wedding at all

Unless you really have it like that to where spending 30k on a wedding isn't an expense that can be considered material.

Same thing. If they have one at disneyland to help you out the better but at a cost, then again is the cost worth your peace of mind? Usually a place like disneyland has preset prices pick a package done. Me on the other hand i went the cheap route did about 90% of the work. Making calls tapping into family and friends for recommendations. Or from previous interactions with vendors. It was alot of work but worth the savings in the end, we had a friend of a relative who is a wedding planner helped us out just gave her all the contact info for the vendors and she took it from there. my wife and I had the best time, we got all kinds of compliments. I think one key is the dj. He will determine the party for you. Good luck any questions feel free to ask
