Lemme get a list of everybody's current favorites, legends excluded. No particular order but these are the cats I listen to the most.
Freddie Gibbs, Dom Kennedy (he on thin ice but just based off of everything from 25th to GHS, it's the relatability), Dave East, Roc Marciano, Drake, Young Roddy, Nipsey, The bull RJ from out Cali, and I like that Your Old Droog cat.

King Chip (Chip tha Ripper)
Troy Ave
Dom Kennedy
Casey Veggies
Freddie Gibbs
None are really "new" per say but yeah.

The only correct answer is Kevin Gates. Bouta change the whole landscape of rap and end mad careers on December 11th when that debut album drop. The Pope tweeted the preorder link the other day. #BWA #IDGT definitely the most anticipated album in the world right now. Got every social media going crazy. The hype is incredible.

Cozz. will be somethin SPECIAL in a few years.
Dave Ea$t. One of the few new NY rappers that will have a GREAT debut album
Vince Staples.
TruthCity.
Kur.
PnB Rock.

I'm not quite sure Roc Marciano should be considered new

I have a CD from like 2005 with him on it

I just mean "new" as in not Jay, Nas, Big, Kiss, Scarface etc. I should've worded it different. And I never heard a Roc Marc' solo full length until 2010 lol. That qualifies him.

KUR should be next...one of the realest young dudes in the game..One of the few rappers I heard that ain't afraid to really put his life out there..but I'm from philly so I'm so bias.

Curren$y is all I've really been listening to as of late.

Any of you heard of Cousin Stizz? Fire.

Travis Scott

Earl

Post Malone

Bryson Tiller I don't know where this kid came from but just listened to his album and he is a contender

DRAM is pretty good but got screwed on the mario sample but his album is pretty dope

Rae Sremmurd these kids are on to something the album actually was great and 50% of the songs charted.

Honorable mention would be FUTURE he is a completely different rapper from when he first dropped.

New as in came out the last five years, cause most of these dudes BEEN out and dropped heat.

If I consider new post 2010 guys:

KRIT
Corner Boy P
Freddie Gibbs
Roc Marciano (I know he first appeared in 2004, but his first solo wasn't until 2010)
Riff Raff
Kendrick Lamar

Dubb is definitely NOT a new artist. He just saw how successful K. Dot was by switching his style so he decided to do the same thing. Dubb been around for a while.
I live in NY.
First time hearin him was on 'Crenshaw'.
I downloaded 'Perfect Timing' The day it dropped, still listen to about half of it.
He had some projects before that, but to the majority he's new. The few that have actually heard of him. I don't know anyone outside of the internet that has.
