For NaS to hop on a record that was ALREADY a CLASSIC and deliver such an HONEST verse and pay homage to a young G was something TRULY special. Most times the passing of guard in hip-hop is a power struggle, where as here NaS gave his blessing and essentially stamped and welcomed Cole into the class of ELITE MCs.

I remember being in my cell the first time hearing this and all the dudes that had been down since the 90s was goin CRAZY over that verse.
Then seeing 'Time Is Illmatic' just makes you appreciate NaS verse even more.
