To whom ever brought a used car from a dealership example mitsubishi, how much extra have you been charged in dealer fees off the sticker price. I went online price was 10,999. I understand taxes and paperwork fees but theses guys tried to rape me out of $2000 extra in dealership fees

I told them either drop the price which is what I wanted them to do by $1,000 to which they said they couldn't after they called the owner because he didn't want to go that low or they could take half off the 2K fee. I just walked out of there as quickly as possible after wasting a drive down there.

wtf, a consignment lot???    dont walk away, run away -

used lots already charge lot value and not private value so that is their markup... they are mos def getting over.

To answer the question, no I've never been charged that much for dealer fee. I few hundred dollars maybe but that seems a bit much. I usually get them to throw in an extended warranty to offset fees. I paid my sales tax myself to avoid extra $$ being financed. My last 2 vehicles were used, I printed out autotrader summaries and went to a few dealers and got info and had the salesman I talked to write on each paper price/warranty/etc that we agreed on and used it as leverage to get the car a really wanted. Not saying this will work across the board but any research helps. They will try to scumbag sale you for sure.

Yeah dude called me back today said he could waive the $2000 fee then he had to check with the manager who said half again. they can't even get their story straight now he saying he could do for $1300

that doesn't even include the taxes, paperwork and other bulls*t fee's they want to charge you.

If youre trying to cop something for that price I suggest buying privately and not through a dealer for the better deal

Getting different answers now? Yeah, I'd look for the car you want at a different dealership.

It's funny cause like kyleon said usually they would charge like a couple of hundred depends on the state cause most states really don't have a cap price so dealerships can charge you however much they want. This is what happens when corporations go unchecked.
