Not too many SHOES you can wear to they nearly fall to pieces and sell for what you paid for them or atleast 1/2 what you paid. JB you can...And look fresh while you do it.

Lol and they wouldn't sell.

Unless game worn - cp3 13 PE just plummeted.

Def wasn't the first slap in the face tho.

It's no different than Jordan Brand releasing true to the original Jordans with Nike air on the back. Maroon 6s tanked in value, same with OG Bordeauxs, OG Hares, Chicago 10s, and soon White Cement 4s. The brand is on life support and are desperate to pump new blood back into it. PEs are a good option although it damages the value

That's what they'd say but fact of the matter is, better leather doesn't equal $1000+ for a shoe I can get for a few hundred. I know someone who has 2 pairs of these CP 13's, the ACTUAL PE's. As of today, I'd give him $1000 for both and I think he paid $5,000 total for the set.

Wrong. If this statement was true, there would be mass releases of everything from Royal 1's to DB's. Rare shoes i.e. collectors items help keep the Jordan Brand name "exclusive". That hunt for the shoe and those outrageous resell prices, free marketing for Nike. Nike could make 300,000 AirMags for $750 a piece. That's $225,000,000 profit off of one shoe and guess what, all 300,000 pair would FLY off of the shelves. Why not do this? Why release a limited amount for a fraction of that profit?

With all due respect, you are wrong. You must not understand business. Why saturate your product for a short term gain when you can continually make money off of it for years to come. Your mag argument makes no sense. If they mass produce it, more than half of that 300k will not be sold at retail, plus the "cache" of the MAG is now gone. You overestimate how much people will pay for a shoe if they know it's not LIMITED. Look at AJ11 Columbias, AJ6 black/Infrared, ect. People where hyped and the resellers where licking their chops. But the moment people found out they were mass produced, it was a wrap for those shoes! You can get those shoe for about $270 at so many spots. And that's just only two examples. The game has changed, you guys need to adapt.

Lol I wish we had a dtlr here....closest one to charleston is an hour away...smh

Lex and up here in Columbia (I moved a few mths ago from Charleston) they don't always get what other dtlr's get. Best shot for a limited up here is a place call APB

Yea Nike doesn't care about the collector. It actually uses our habit against us.
They can drop the same shoe 3 different ways giving us a little more of what we want for each release.

Like the 88 cement 3s... We got Nike air but the messed up and didn't put it everywhere t was supposed to go. Nike could drop those again and slap OG on the name with a "better" mold and sell out instantly.

The reason we don't get what we want is because it's bad business for Nike to do so. They want to keep us coming back so they keep dangling the carrot in front of us. The buzz Nike creates is priceless.

Everyone sleeping on these. Jordan Retro PE's sitting for this long but some wack *** Jordan V sells out in 5 seconds? Makes no sense.

Regardless, easy cop on NDC. Hope everyone that wants this shoe got there pair.
Did you just call the Supreme V's wack?

Pretty much. Universities should have business classes going over the gansta ways of Nike/JB, and make it a prerequisite for all business majors. The marketing/future planners at Nike/JB are the real MVPs!

That's fine and all but very simply put, exclusiveness is something of value in society. If diamonds were as common as aluminum, they wouldn't be highly sought after. If a Rolls Royce was $16,000 and was about as available as a Ford Focus, the rich would migrate to some other vehicle. Heck, there aren't any millionaires buying Hyundai Genesis'. Not that it's not a nice car, it's just easily available to those who are in a different (and much lower) tax bracket then them.

Transfer this to shoes. Ever been to a shoe event like SneakerCon? The guy with the recently released retroes from 2014-2015, his table gets stepped right over. I'd rather go see the guy who has a shoe that's 1 of 48 or something. I'd rather see the guy who has a table filled with about $200,000 worth of kicks. Me personally, I have multiple shoes where there are less than 100 pairs in existence. To have something different than EVERYONE else, it's a good feeling. You'd be lying if you disagree.

To like a shoe, want a shoe, then find out it's rare, that's a good feeling. To not like a shoe, find out it's rare, then want it, that's corny.

To each is own my friend! I really don't care because I rock what I want regardless of what others have, that's my high! Exclusiveness is for those who feel the need for it. When I was younger and my parents copped sneakers that others may not have had, I was quick to ask where I grabbed them from because I gave two ***** less about who had them. I feel the same as being a 34 year old.

Everyone has their own feeling about exclusivity! Some people need it and others don't!
