RIP New York Hip-Hop? (Need Some Feedback)

Black culture and history in the south continues with hip-hop cosigns.

Those that stayed down there during the Great Migration more or less banded together.

The east coast not so much.

Make your stamp MEAN something?
View media item 1753908The furthest he went to find an NY artist was the 3rd floor.

NaS too.

Diddy. Jay. NaS. And 50.

Blood on all their hands.

Nas is trying with Dave East...

Also, people clown Troy Ave and he definitely has 2004 era Ye ******* qualities without the music to back it up, but man this isn't even wack as far as a NY radio record...

in no way shape or form did ye have the best verse on we are the champions. Cam ate that.

NaS is trying a decade too late.

Maybe he could've looked for some talent before declaring hip-hop to be dead.

Jay-Z is a sucka. I remember when A$AP was starting to make a buzz and Jay was on Hot 97 with Angie and she specifically asked him "what young NYC artist on the come up have you noticed" his corny *** gonna reply back talking some "I'm not gonna name no names cause they not on that level yet where I could mention them" I'm like what type of diva **** is that :smh:

The East Coast? That's on NY. Yall dudes love to thumb your nose at everyone.

Well I made a point about Jay-Z having blood on his hands in the death of NY.

He's definitely a culprit.

Not from NY but from the outside looking in, it seems that way.

According to Cam, as of whenever he did Breakfast Club (which was no earlier than 2013-2014), 40/40 DJ's STILL aren't allowed play Dipset records until this day.

That's scorned female behavior.

Let that be a lesson to all you dudes out there. Never bite the hand that feeds you....that's where Cam went wrong. All you gotta do in life is play your position and stay in your lane. A lesson that Cam and Co. had to learn the hard way.

Also, I think it's a good thing that no Dipset records are played at the 40/40. We have to remember that famous and important people visit this establishment. From President Obama, high profile businesses executives, and various movers and shakers in New York City. As far as Dipset music goes, that's not exactly the kind music and or representation of hip-hop that we want to leave with these kind of individuals.

Are you guys going to forget the numerous shots they aimed at Jay in songs and interviews?

I wouldn't give you any shine either.

If 50 did the same thing, you dudes wouldn't have a problem with it.

^^^^^Whos mans is this?

You can call it what you want to champ, but at the end of the day Cam shot himself in the foot going up against Jay.........then ended up getting shot in the arm to wrap things up. Shout out to the staff at Howard Hospital.

Also, the point about 50 doing the same as Jay and getting a pass is very accurate.

50, Diddy, Jay-Z, are all huge reasons for NY's demise. None of these dudes could care at all about the culture of NYC rap music

I can't disagree with this.

But I wouldn't say huge though, because Jeezy, Ross and TI aren't exactly putting a ton of dudes from their city on.

It's just weird that Jay really has this superiority complex, when now that I think about it, he really benefited from NY not having a spokesman for all these years.

Does 50 really get a pass though? I feel like both fans and the media have done their fair share of blaming 50 for a lot of things. Only difference is, Jay can drop something and people will still clamor for it. 50 can drop something and it's like

How and or why is it Diddy or Jay's responsibility to discover/find the next upcoming rapper to bring the city back?? That sounds like that same old "handout" mentality that a lot of folks suffer from in our community. It's the job of the new and upcoming rappers to get themselves hot and to put the city back to the front. Diddy and Jay already did that prior, they have done their part.

So...**** tradition, right? Nevermind that those guys needed somebody to look their way and embrace their talents in order to get a chance.

It's not about a "handout." If you claim to love and rep where you're from to the fullest, then you should want to see the people who's spot you were in succeed.

A tip or jeezy co sign means nothing at all. Its only 1 co sign them atl dudes trynna get

I just think the sound is dead. Aside from hip hop nerds I don't think anybody is tryna hear gritty NY raps. Ppl move on its a new generation captivated by different sounds. NY would probably have to evolve to come back to relevancy
